I don't think it's true for most people. For example, I only use it to skip some long repetitive scenes or things like that. Of course, some people use it for "cheating", like saving during battles, and stuff.

Yeah, I think it depends on how it's used. Sometimes I save it befor battles in FF games to make sure I get a . . . desireable outcome. That's like cheating But then without the Savestates all you'd have to do is restart the game, though from farther back. It's kinda like that

it will depend how you use it.
if you just save before a boss, which is hard and you took so much time to get here before the last save i think itīs ok

but if you just keep saving after you deal some damage to the boss, and so on, and keep loading and saving like freak, sure itīs the worst cheat ever.

i personally think itīs useful for games that often crashes with emulators, and you have playes about an hour without a save point and BANG! damn it.

it is very true in my case, i rarely use savestates only if it is the only way to save. Another thing is when i'm playing, suddenly i wanted to do something in real life, :fart: then it's time for the super handy savestate feature.

When there are branches in the story line (e.g. decision to save Kid or not), I use savestate so that I won't have to replay the game once I beat it (it's just a lot more convienent than actual saving)

That's true. I hate when I'm playing and my pc crashes and I lose everything I played for hours.

hmm... savestate is a bit like cheating....depends on the games u play.

U can really win a strategy game very fast if u use savestate. Save b4 u attack, if u fail to hit the enemy, load the savestate and attack again ....this will 100% make ur life easier...but it will reduce the fun to play a strategy game...

for rpg, savestate really very helpful,u dont need to go back to certain save point to save ur games especially when u r half way in a maze or ....

Anyway, savestate is a cheat in my opinion, since the games programmers dont expect us to save the game anywhere, and thats y the save point locations were created.

yes, i guess it also depends on the type of game, say for example MGS, i mean using savestates all the time on this game IMHO will really make the game cheap.

I only used it in two parts: right before Snake's been captured and during the REALLY long movie (you know the one I'm talking about, the longest movie in the game).
