They basically parodise pop songs and nintendo tunes to Raw blackmetal songs with lyrics. Just listen Sliced Girls Wannadie. I bet you recognise what hit song this previously was.

If you understand what to listen and how to listen raw blackmetal, these songs are actually VERY good and well made, to others it might just sound noise, but still funny in parody sense.

Listen song A Jorney Through Nightmario Land (castle music from GB game Mario Land 1) with good headphones without too much bass and listen melodic pattern which guitar follow. Its quite easy to listen and gives basic idea how blackmetal works, though thats definetly not whole idea. My god, i love this band...

)dimmu borgir,stormlord,...

and as far as I know cradle of filth is NOT black-metal but just extreme metal

You right Carnage about CoF. In fact, its Extreme Goth if pronounced fully. Glad to see some civilized metalheads other than me...

Bands to check out:

Massemord (NOR): Melodic Blackmetal. Check album Skogen Kaller

Immortal: earlier stuff is raw blackmetal, later is mixture of melodic black and death. Check albums Blizzard Beast (old), Battles In The North (old) and Damned In Black (new), At The Heart Of Winter (new).

Sorcier Des Glaces: Cold atmospheric raw blackmetal. This soloband only has one album, Snowland, which is sold in CD-R discs. I dont know if he still sells them though...

Setherial: Norsecore Blackmetal. (meaning stuff similar to Dark Funeral) Check album Hell Eternal.

Carpathian Forest: earlier stuff is Black Heavy Metal, latest album is just black metal bit similar to older Dimmu Borgir. Check album Defending The Throne Of Evil.

Darkwoods My Betrothed: earlier stuff is Viking Blackmetal, later Majestic Blackmetal. (melodic blackmetal with epic, storylike lyrics) Check album Witch Hunts. Remember to check the lyrics of last three songs aswell. They are actually one song with story lyrics. Kinda interesting stuff.

Dawn: Melodic Norsecore. (lightweight version of Dark Funeral) Check album Slaughtersun.

Gehenna: Gothic blackmetal. Check albums First Spell and Seen Through The Veils Of Darkness (second spell).

Graveworm: Extreme Goth. Similar to Cradle Of Filth without Dani Filth.

Limbonic Art: Symphonic Blackmetal. Check album In Abhorrence Dementia.

1349: Raw Blackmetal. Check album Liberation.

Naglfar: Norsecore Blackmetal. Check album Diabolical.

Raventhrone: Epic Blackmetal. Lots of clear chanting-like Vocals. Check album Malice In Wonderland.

Theatre Des Vampires: Extreme Goth / Vampire Metal. Check album Bloody Lunatic Asylum.

Thyrane: Melodic Blackmetal. Latest album (hypnotic) is Industrial Metal (which sucks badly). Check album Symphonies Of Infernality.

Tristania: Dark Metal. Later stuff is Doom Metal. Check album Beyond The Veil.

btw:im just simply loving doom-metal too altough the only bands I know and can get mp3s of are My Dying Bride,Shape of Despair,Novembers Doom and early ozzy....lol

wow, black metal fans. i (and my friends) are more into death metal, btw Behemoth is somewhere near Death metal but not all the way there...other cool death metal bands: Cattle Decapitation, Iniquity, Necrophagist, Dying Fetus, Decapitated, that's what i got right off the top of my head

But I really like Graveworm as well: Try to get your hands on their cover of Losing My Religion

I really recommend it!

I'm not into Death and Black metal too much. It sounds too depressed to me...

Try not to think it as depressing, but more like Melancholic. Listen Summoning - Long Lost Where No Pathway Goes from album Stronghold (forgot to mention this band in list above). Slow, but very melodic. (actually, its almost nothing but atmospheric ambient and melody with blackmetallic guitars on background. They vary their style from album to album) You will love it 100% surely.

Im quite sure about others tastes, am i?

my god, i ****ing love decapitated. decapitated and dying fetus are my 2 favorite death metal bands, they are so GROOVY!

and on a side note, Morbid Angel's newest album (heretic) is pretty damn awesome, i like it much, something good since Gateways to Annihlation
