I know its not the most appealing subject but have you ever had a wart? I have one on my arm that wont go away maybe you know a solution. I got angry one night and ripped it off with a knife and it bled like a stuck hog..but it regrew. Maybe I should try freezing it off?

Yeah, I had one on my right big toe when I was young. It grew so big it was as big as a 25cent coin. My parents finally noticed and the doctor gave me some prescription acid goo. I put that on with a band-aid for a month and a half and it finally went away.

One of the worst things you can do is try to cut it off by yourself. You run the risk of infection and spreading the wart. (You can also force it deeper into your skin making it harder to get rid of)

Anyway, what type of wart is it? A doctor friend told me this.

“You can try acids, freezes, and cutting. But the most effective treatment is to burn them”

I had a bad planter’s wart on the side of my little toe. This made walking rater difficult. So he used an electrocauterizer to burn it off (it was really deep) i'm fine now. and I’m glad the pain is gone.

But different warts can be treated with less invasive measures. A simple hand wart can be easily frozen off… or better yet just try duct tape! (But burning it off is always faster)

(Duct tape, is an all-purpose household fix-it tool with hundreds of uses, it can also remove warts.)

You clean the affected area. Then cut a small square of duct tape. Put that of over the affected area making sure the wart cannot get any air (you must suffocate it)

Here is some more info. I hope I was able to help you.

-data-
A study from Cincinnati Children's Hospital shows that common duct tape is significantly more effective in curing common warts than the standard treatment of liquid nitrogen. Most dermatologists treat warts by applying liquid nitrogen until the warts turn white and then a painful blister forms raising the wart to the top of the blister. The authors treated half their wart patients by applying liquid nitrogen to each wart for 10 seconds every 2-3 weeks for a maximum of 6 treatments. The other half were treated by applying duct tape directly to the wart for a maximum of two months. The cure rate for the duct tape was 85 percent, while the cure rate for liquid nitrogen was 60 percent. The duct tape, or any other tape, macerates the wart so that blood vessels grow into it, allowing the body's immune system to kill the wart. Children with multiple warts have a much lower cure rate with liquid nitrogen.

Having Warts Sucks big time.

I had a planters wart on my heel for what must've been at least 4 months. It got so that it hurt to walk on, so I was walking so as not to put pressure on the side of my heel where it was. Well, I finally got some of those bandaid things where you put the acid patch in the middle. It took a long time, but finally those things burned through enough skin and got rid of it entirely. It didn't come back.

I've recently seen commercials for an over the counter freezing treatment for warts. In the advertisement a little girl(maybe 10) gets the treatment(which you cant watch happen) from her mom and gets up smiles gayly says "Thankyou mom" and walks away with a big smile...I figured it would hurt at least a little.

hehe...we had one between our thumb and forefinger. We hacked it off, but it came back. Then we did the duct tape. That actually worked!

Like Unicron was saying...They now sell over the counter freeze wart removers.

i had like 8 on my hands, I tried the band-aids but the took too long. Then I went to the doctors to freeze them off but nothin. So final I got the acid and within 2 weeks the were all gone. I wish I would have tried the duct-tape method sound like fun.

I think everyone had some sort of wart here and there...imagine having Herpes and having to do this every few months???

I think I had a wart inbetween my toes one time...I was about 8 or 9 so I vagily remember. Some sort of over-the-counter liquid did the trick.

Reading up on warts ive learned that a wart must breath in order to survive therefore your methods about duck tape hold alot of merit. I am the type of person who gets very paranoid when something I've never experienced happends to my body. When I first looked at this wart i figured it was a mosquito bite gone mad. Then after a month it still looked the same, I became worried and thought I had caught a disease or some virus. Oddly enough warts are caused by a virus
