pure trojans per definition doesnt damage your computer, as their are only programs that run a background script while showing you.... a trojan horse Unfortunately pure trojans rarely come, they are often mixed with the virus or worm type So be scared (or enter safe mode and delete them )

Not to mention keyloggers, and other nasty things that invade your privacy, and security. If you dont mind them, atleast keep your self secure so you arnt inadvertently sending them to other people.

I suggest you goto mcafee.com and download stinger, also update your virus definitions run a complete scan, copy all names of the virii/trojans you come across look for how to remove them, stinger should take care of alot of trojans/virii but to be safe you may have to manually do it.

Like the other dude said,trojans rarely come alone...and if they would come alone,I still think you should get rid of it because if one got trough your defense,more will...wich in time will affect your speed if im not mistaking...or was that just spyware in general

General Advice: Get a firewall and stop clicking suspicious executables. That should block them out so you don't have your computer full of trojans. Trojans are bad news - trojans can pretty much take over your PC.

Trojans, Big Johnsons, and all other condoms should be kept well away from your computer. You all should be ashamed! Ugh, my head is filling with nasty images that must be shut out before they finish... I don't want to know what you did.

<end joking>
As far as "can they damage my computer," yes... any virus can damage your computer, especially a trojan. Most trojans, however, collect information that you type to websites or other programs (usernames, passwords... are you really you?, credit card numbers, you name it... you type it, they may capture it).

10 of them, you say? Heh, hope you got good insurance on your credit cards if you used them at all. Reformat the system, there could always be something the virus scan missed... AND DON'T CLICK ON ANY FRIGGIN SUSPICIOUS EXECUTABLES! STOP IT! NOW! NOT LATER! NOW! Oh, and put up a firewall so windows doesn't execute anything without your knowledge (sasser among other things). If you use outlook, disable all the neat stuff (html e-mails, vbscript, etc.).

Stinger only removes a select few trojans the most damaging. The others you need a good AV and to follow the instructions for removal.

actually,the script for opening your cd-writer is quite easy to find and it doesnt take a l337 hacker to do that,good hackers would rather act as if they werent there and collect as much valuable data,not go scaring you by opening the cd-writer

As far for the problem,as I said before,I use an exellent FREE virusscanner called "Avast Virusscanner" ,you get a LOT of updates of it to make sure your protected against the newest viruses and stuff,you can easily remove/move to chest any virus or something like that,and like I said..ITS FREE (and no,unlike other free stuff,this actually is VERY good)anyway,you do have to register after 60 days BUT,you can simply register for free,all you need to do is put your email in at some thingy at the site and they will create a Key that matches your email so when you input the email and key in the progrem they match and voila,registered...and no spam either btw

Might also wanna install Ad-aware
