Young parents

a few questions

1. how many of your parents were young when they produced you? (young as in like 16-17 or around in there.)
2. is so then do you think that you would have turned out diffrent now than say if your parents were older?

I just ask be I am a child of such a situation and wonder what life would have been like or if would have been that much diffrent. also one of my close friends found out that he may be a father soon, (he broke up with the girl like 7 or 8 months ago) and she didn't know that she was pregnant till like a month ago. he is 17 and she is barely 17. It just got me thinking of all the possiblities. anyways sorry if this thread offends anyone.

Re: Young parents

well there is nothing wrong with having young parents... the downside is that young parents didn't quite enjoy their youth and that's why some have problems raising up a family or are not capable of handling their responsiblity because they are not prepared (mostly because of unwanted pregnancy)

but on the lighter side, people who marry young tend to have a closer relationship with their children since there is a way to close what ewe call "generation gap" between parents and children...

well everything is case to case basis...

Re: Young parents

Quatro Has a point, once You get to college you'll see alot of young parents lyin around. i myself have a friend thats 19 and she has a 4 yr old. i think depending on the parents the child could live a really good live, as Quatro says. the down fall is that they wont get to fully enjoy their youth. but the up side is. they end up more mature for some reason. and less.. well strange, to say the least of most the chicks i seen around.

Re: Young parents

and it also depend on their want to raise a family. Even at a young age, young parents can raise children exceptionally well than parents who married late (like late 20's or early 30's)

Re: Young parents

well , in my country in the villagers cities (or whatever it's name in english .... i mean the cities with farms and villagers , cows , etc) they marry at age of 16 and 17 usually .

most of time parents r part of these marriages just to protect their sons from future relationships in universities .

but in normal cities here (i mean that without farms , etc ) they don't marry till they end university study and may be after they found a good job .

my parents were married when they were 25 or 28 (i can't remember)

Re: Young parents

I come from basically the opposite situation. My mom was 38 and my dad 39 when they had me. So yeah, now my parents are 60. Even though I don't have that big of a family, I'm not very close with my extended family since they're quite a bit older than me (my brother is 30, my cousins are mid 30's, and my grandparents are in their mid-80's).

Anyway, having a young mom can be dangerous. Check this out - http://www.genmay.com/showthread.php...5&pagenumber=1 - WARNING WARNING, this is some fukked up **** (if it's real, which it probably isn't)... though funny in a "damn that's so fukked up sick and weird it's funny" kinda way.

Re: Young parents

My mum was extremely young when she had me. She sacrificed a lot for me and have become a better person for it. A lot of my friends are amazed that my mum is so young.

I have a one year old brother, and I'm 18, so there is 17 years between us. My youngest uncle is four years older than I am, and my Nan is 51, probably younger than your parents are if you are close to my age. My mum is 33 and the older than her four siblings and had me when she was 14. My uncle, auntie and I were in the same primary school at once, I was in Year 0, Uncle in Year 5 and auntie in Year 6.

I'm in the same boat as you Rhombus. My parents were like 38 for my father and 35 for my mother. So now, I'm comigg in the prime age; 17 years old and going to turn 18 in April. Well now my parents think I should marry in young age or a least get engaged with someone between the age of 19 and 22. Then get married between 23 and 26. Yeah my life is all planned isn't it.

Re: Young parents

hmm,..IIRC, my mom and dad met each other in college and got married 2 years after they graduated, so they were around 26 years old. I came 1 year after they got married.

Re: Young parents

i dont see the problem with it. i mean as long as both parents want to have the child/children, then they're willing to sacrifice nething for that. n those who dont want one can just have an abortion instead of leaving problems in the future.

Re: Young parents

I say this cause it isn't that common here for a coulpe 16 to 17 years old want a child or get married, not saying it doesn't happen. I was just thinking about my unhappyness and other ppl in the situation(young parents) who are like wise unhappy, all this started a good friend of my, younger, found out that his ex (for about seven month) was seven moths pregnant. I try to give advise but, the person that is the mother has a bf that fuking hate my friend and plans to father the child. the catch is the are trying to make my friend pay child support for a child that might not even be his.

Re: Young parents

Well, as for the young couples ( ages 16 and 17..etc). I believe they should get older before they start their family. Sure, they can get married anytime, but marriage is a responsibilty as well as a relationship. They are still new to life, they need to be more experienced and able to act accordingly.

Besides, I think youngers at the age of 16 are still too young. They should at least enjoy thier youth before burdening themselves with such responsibility IMO :/

Yours,
-Elly

Re: Young parents

but if the individual enjoys the responsibility, then that wont be burdening themselves with it.

Kinda a weasle thing to do but if he says that he wants to put is up for adoption and the mother doesn't want it then it would exempt him form any child support in the future. he must do this before the child is born though.

well the right age range for me would be 25 - 29 (30 is already quite old)

and I would like to have a child right away if I got married
