Question ED2K links?

i was wondering, is it OK to post ed2k links here? obviously NO for things that are illegal, but for fansub anime and things, is it alright?

Re: ED2K links?

I'm thinking only if the anime hasn't been licensed yet. If it has been licensed, it's illegal to post links.

Re: ED2K links?

There is only one good site that I know of for ed2k links, however as they also have Hentai, games and lisenced anime, it can't be posted here.

Re: ED2K links?

hmm i know what you are talking about, they dont have some stuff i wish they did, but they do have a lot....

anyway, another question. lets say i have a file, and i get the ed2k link from it, can i give it to someone and they download it? assuming we are on the same server of course. everything seems to line up there...it makes sense

Re: ED2K links?

Well it kinda is as it's one of the 3 most common methods of fansub distribution (the others being Bittorrent and IRC)

I think DC and bittorent own all. Emule is too slow for my taste. :*(

Re: ED2K links?

Yeah, I agree with you...
although there is a virus that spreads only through Kazaa, it's called hantaner and it infects .exe files
So now I use KAzaa only for MP3s, Videos and stuff... never for apps

Re: ED2K links?

Newsgroups is a great alternative as well. I download at my limit around 230 kb/s and don't have to share anything. It's great for leechers. Only drawbacks are you have to get what's there and if you have a request, you have to put up something as well. But newsgroups are great for new anime eps that have recently come out.

If you find out how to use something complicated as IRC (yes its complicated at first) then you can do newsgroups as well.

Re: ED2K links?

you know what? i may sound stupid saying this but here it goes: i have no idea how to use IRC at all. once, i did a file transfer with (now banned) Gkort on mirc. but, if i wanted to get, for example, an episode of anime i have no idea what to do.

and killjoy...i get apps through kazaa sometimes, i always virus scan em, havent had a problem yet
