Counter offer to RIAA?

http://thebighack.org/modules.php?op...rtid=10&page=1

Hacker Coalition Produces Amnesty Counter-Offer

A mysterious organization calling itself Digital Douwd has stunned the entertainment giants today by offering them an amnesty agreement, apparently inspired by the much-contested offer by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to not prosecute those who turn themselves in voluntarily before being subpeoenaed.

Directed at the "Copyright Industry Associations of America", this remarkable ultimatum urges the media which have been prominent in the file-sharing battle to immediately establish a fund amounting to 16 million dollars for the repayment of all monies obtained by suing their customers and to redress any further wrongs done by them, including but not limited the legal fees and other expenses incurred by those accused, and the continued attempts to monopolize the media that the Senate recently also attempted to prevent.

Failure to comply will result in the "deprecation" of those same industries essential business model, according to the document. How this would be accomplished is not specified in the offer, but sources close to the computer scene believe it could be done without illegal activity. "All they have to do is work together to produce a totally transparent information-transfer model," said one excited computer guru in California. "It wouldn't be that hard if they pooled their resources." But others were skeptical, including some experts who felt it that any such attempt would certainly be more than merely peaceful in nature.

Attempts to reach out to the organization itself resulted only in a single terse statement from an anonymous respondent: "We are hackers. We would be better left alone." Similar language is included on some copies of the amnesty agreement itself.

Re: Counter offer to RIAA?

I hope the RIAA thing will go out of business soon. Lots of people suffering about it >_< and just for some stupid mp3s.. like they sued this 12 y/o girl! Gosh.. like what they are thinking to accomplish with it. Destroy the p2p filesharing and mp3s? That's totally impossible thing to do.

Ahh and I've heard that the RIAA people have been sharing some MP3s which are like just normal mp3s for few dozen of seconds but then they turn into this sound which is supposed to destroy your speakers if you have them on really loud O_o
I think that's just... childish ;\

I am glad I don't live in USA ^_^;
