Re: has anyone else noticed?

You're not the only one Carnage. My sister Jackie and I have had the same irritating problem with many songs. I do not download songs anymore as it doesn't appeal to me anymore.

Re: has anyone else noticed?

They're dummy files spread by the RIAA. The noise is supposed to be designed in such a way that, if your speakers are loud enough, it'll blow them.

Are you using the plain KMD client? you will get those dumb dummy files on KMD

remember, Kazza Lite K++ is your friend. Get it at www.freecodecs.com ( that's the site for Klite KPP and Klite codecs. )

Re: has anyone else noticed?

or just forget about kazaa and switch to some other non mainstream sharing program. i doubt the RIAA would waste their time with the likes of emule, DC and bit torrent.

Re: has anyone else noticed?

Do you talk about this weird (but not loud) sound that blanks some parts of the mp3?
It starts, then fades from left to right, right to left, etc... 3 times each time it happens...
ATM, I got this problem only on some Evanescence MP3s

Actually isn't it sort of a crime the RIAA is committing if they're intentionlally trying to destroy someone's private property (their speakers)?? Just a thought. Although it doesn't affect me as i only use kazaa lite for videos and emule for everything else. Although i never really download any music except for vgmusic hehe.

Re: has anyone else noticed?

i think they think that if we can "steal" something of theirs that they need some colateral damage

You weren't aware that the RIAA was above the law?

They're also advocating that P2P is a huge source of kiddy porn. How they came to that assumption without breaking the law, I have no clue. Hopefully they would have done some research before making such claims, which means they would have had to actually search for the stuff. Now, according to US law, even being in possession of the stuff is a criminal offense. So, I don't get how they get away with trying to play undercover cop.

Edit: Now that I think about it, this isn't a big deal. Anybody remember the bill that was proposed, which would allow for the RIAA to hack into your computer and attempt to destroy it if you were found to have any infringing material? The RIAA has been trying to "destroy" computers for quite some time.
