The holodeck would be great, no matter how you look at it. And as Laurence M.Krauss (author of "The Physics of Star Trek" and the chief physicist at the Case Wester University) said, most people would use the holodeck for sexual purposes

I read several years ago that the US government already had aumm.. not realyl a holodeck, but a virtual deck comprised of millions of little screens. They use it to help train solders. They can put them in any situation/enviroment (Even down to controlling the humidity)
