What would you rather have?

There was a nice looking tweaked out, shiny, body kitted, racer looking Honda accord which was dead on a highway offramp. I thought to myself, "nice looking dead car". And here I am in this crappy old Toyota Previa van, but it has never died on me or left me stranded. So lets see what the people here would rather have? A tweaked out to the max car with all the trimmings which will probably die and leave you stranded or a really old and busted looking car but is reliable.

For me, I'd rather have a car that takes me where I need to go. Oh look at that nice looking car being towed.

Re: What would you rather have?

Without doubt I would get an ugly looking reliable car. No need for beautiful cars here

Yup reliable is the way to go, no point in a nice car if your can't drive it.

Re: What would you rather have?

I guess I'm an old man at heart cause I've NEVER seen the point and practicality of a nice looking/ nice performing car. Especially speed. Why do I care about acceleration and top speed when it's illegal to drive like that anyway and I use my car as a means of transportation to go to like work, and friends places, and errands, etc.

I can see the value of internal comfort and luxury (lots of cupholders, comfy seats, nice sound system, nice A/C and heater, etc) cause it's nice to be comfy and relaxed while driving. As for what my car looks like, and how fast it goes, I could care less. I loved my '83 Toyota Camry (stick) cause it drove great, never broke down, and got many many miles per gallon.

Re: What would you rather have?

at this point in my life, i don't have money to upkeep an unreliable car. i'd definetly go for the reliable over the fancy one.

Re: What would you rather have?

Good point... the car-napper would think that this car can be a good deal but, it's in opposite way...

You know what, Rhombus?? I'm with you d00d. I just don't see the point in ppl splashing $$$ on high performance, insanely loud exhaust systems, engines and such. Might as well take that kind of money and spend it w/ ppl who deserve it.
I'm with reliability over beauty. Like they say, beauty isn't forever

I'd pick the nice looking unreliable one... why ? Because the only use I find for a car is to show it off... yeah, I like fancy stuff

Re: What would you rather have?

i can't stand taking the bus around, so if its fancy and sitting in the garage half the time, its not worth the trouble.

Re: What would you rather have?

HAH! I went from the old crappy "'84 Plymoth Reliant" ( ) to the "'95 mercury sable" that I have now...it is nicer and has never left me stranded...unless I forget to turn off the headlights when I park at work.
