Well, I know that playing ALL the 1st person shooters I have over the years, with my trusty keyboard and mouse, has definitely helped me with my hand-eye co-ordination....plus, I draw/paint alot, so that helps too.

Playing fast-paced videogames were always known for improving reflexes and instincts. Games can also inspire creative thinking and imagination (especially puzzle and strategy games). It doesn't take a study to tell me that.

Greetings,

No scientific study is necessary to show that eye-hand coordination improvements are achieved with prolonged game playing. But some researchers have too free time on their hands and weird (a.k.a. biased) funding sources), so we can understand their choices of subjects.
But there are good choices of subjects for studies related to gaming, such as overall memory sharpness, for example.

Live long and prosper.

Maybe it's my old age, but my brain feels fried after playing video games for too long... I am of the opinion that video games screw up your mind rather than enhance it.

Well I know my mind is relatively sharp and if I can give its credit to something, it'll be videogames..

I knew it too. After I mastered the head shot in Syphon Filter 3, I ended up being the volleyball champion at school. All thanks to violent video games

Greetings,

Videogaming can be a healthy exercise for your mind and memory (specially RPGs). They can lead to sedentarism, though (I'm the living proof ). Not that I think that in the modern world sedentarism is necessarily a bad thing

I don't think it helps memory all that much. There is no one around you to stop you from writing down combinations on a piece of paper, like I do with paper mario . But then again, it could be usefull if you can't pause

Greetings,

I don't think that it helps memory in a direct sense (it's not a correlated increase in memory), but that it helps keeping your memory always in use (and when you reach old age it'll help you kepping an active mind, which is very important to maintain proper mental health).

Not for the gaming comunity, but impressive for the anit-gaming comunity.

Of course that gaming benefits reflexes, coordination, imagination, mental agility etc. Unfortunately, almost all games don't exercise body muscles(physical condition)

Well, atleast I have a valid, scientific excuse to indulge myself into the world of Final Fantasy or Counter-Strike.

About reflexes, can you recommend a good game that gives you an impressive idea of speed like Episode 1 racer?
