pffft
there's still 3 teams in this thang (at the time of this writing at least). i admit, the odds are definetely on for the spurs to win this series against dallas, but it's not impossible. as for who i think will win (the nba championship), that's different than who i want to win (dallas or new jersey). it's just too bad dikembe sucks and they traded mccullough (although he's 'injured' now anyways), otherwise the nets might have had a chance at having a chance at having a chance of beating the spurs (if the spurs reach the finals). not having a feasible big man down the center will definetely allow the spurs to shut down k-mart's slash game, they are about equally fast on the break (parker is a belgian blur), j-kidds drive-n-dish game will be impeded by the presence of the 2 towers around the spur's rim (1 big man and a guard can collapse on the drive, while the other big man can protect the rim), and almost no-one in the league can stop duncan in a half court offense - he will run all over the half-assed new jersey bigmen. it's gonna take a miracle for the nets to pull this one off.

Yeah, but witout Dirk? I don't think so....
I'd vote for the Nets. Jason Kidd deserves a ring already.

Last 2 years have been absolute heaven for me. Believe it or not I've been a Nets fan all my life. Unfortunately for me they were on a 25 year sucking streak until last season. I've had to watch through all the sucky years with herbs like Rick Mahorn, and Chris Morris... failed stars like Derrick Coleman, Yinka Dare, Kenny Anderson, Shawn Bradley... the tragic loss of Drazen Petrovic. Then in recent years the tons of injuries to guys like Marbury, Kittles, Van Horn, Kenyon.
Nets have been cursed and crappy for long enough... it's bad enough to be in the shadow of the Knicks. Last year the Nets had to get some playoff experience. Now with that Finals experience behind them, they're gonna go all the way this year.

I think the last time they were competitive was when they were still in the ABA and Dr. J was DA MAN.

Haha, yeah, then they literally SOLD him to the Philadelphia 76er's so that they'd have the money to join the NBA... it was all downhill from there for a LOOONG time.

Without the Lakers and Sacramento(Dallas poses no threat) in the finals, this one would be smooth and easy for the Nets...
There's no more two towers, Robinson's opting to retire at the end of this season is a good choice.... Kenyon Martin wont have a tough time with Duncan(seeing they just slashed through both the NBA's most defensive team and player) Ginobili, Bowen, and Parker will just have to answer the nets powerful and effective fastbreak.... Playoffs really does bring out the best and worse of a player(Remember Dirk and the towels, Both head coaches being kicked out, blackouts, Tayshaun Prince, Ginobili, the doughnuts, and Artest going wild)

i'm no lakers fan but...
if the lakers are vain, they deserve to be. they proved they were the best team in the world 3x in a row. if the lakers are airheaded, well, so is every other team in the league. but i agree, seeing kobe cry was ****ing awesome.

Even if i have a very expensive rookie card of kobe, i always have wanted to see him freak out or cry..... THANK YOU SPURS!!!!
i also have the same sentiments for Nowitzki and Van Exel... Even if they do have the talent, that does'nt give them the rights, there is always someone better than them(LeBron well see if you're really good).....
