Time for war with Syria
Well, things are pretty much over and done with that one dictatorship, so it's apparently time to knock out Syria. The propaganda machine's already going on both sides of the aisle.
---- Rumsfeld last month warned Syria to stop sending military equipment — including night-vision goggles — to Iraqi forces, saying "We consider such trafficking as hostile acts and will hold the Syrian government accountable for such shipments." Asked Sunday whether Syria had heeded those demands, Rumsfeld said, "Not noticeably." Bush and Rumsfeld were ambiguous about what price Syria might pay for defying the United States, but seemed eager to make sure that Damascus understood the message in the coalition's toppling of Saddam. "People have got to know that we are serious about stopping the spread of weapons of mass destruction," Bush said. Noting during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" that Syria is on the State Department's list of countries that sponsor terrorism, Rumsfeld said: "Being on the terrorist list is not some place I'd want to be. The (Syrian) government's making a lot of bad mistakes, a lot of bad judgments calls, in my view, and they're associating with the wrong people." ---- Bush has also noted that Syria has chemical weapons. Okay, on to the challengers, Syria: ---- As you know Syria's history with the Iraqi regime have never been cordial, but we have always been keen about the Iraqi people," she said. Shaaban said Syria had opposed the war against Iraq because of potential harm to the Iraqi people. "I believe we are conducting continuous dialogue with the American officials," she said. "The problem is all the accusations against Syria come from Israel. Israel is the primary instigator to undermine Syrian-American relations, but I don't believe Israeli will succeed in its attempts. "Syria knows best how peace and stability may be secured in the region, and I believe that there is an advantage in consulting with Syria and that Syria play a role in achieving peace and stability in the region," she said. Also: Following Rumsfeld on the NBC show, Syria's deputy ambassador to the United States, Imad Moustapha, said the administration's flurry of charges was a "campaign of misinformation and disinformation" meant to divert attention from the "human catastrophes" taking place in wartime Iraq. Moustapha called the administration's charges "false accusations." Also: The deputy ambassador also invited international inspectors to scour his country, but seemed to tie the offer to similar inspections elsewhere in the region, including in Israel. "Israel is the country that is stockpiling nuclear weapons," he said. Asked about reports that Syria would welcome international inspectors to ascertain that Syria does not posses weapons of mass destruction, Shaaban said in her Al-Jazeera interview: "I don't know who is the source of this report. I am surprised by it." ---- Strangely, General Tommy Franks does not seem to believe that Syria has weapons of mass destruction, indicating that he doesn't know what Bush and Rumsfeld know. Either that or Franks is secretly working on the behalf of Syria, I don't know. It's obvious Syria isn't going to cooperate. Any gestures on the contrary will be received with incredulity like with Iraq. So that means the war is on. Time to heat up that popcorn and wait for stage 3 to begin! (Note: sources used include a Yahoo AP article with a modified format to make it more interesting (?) to read and various reports on Fox News)

That's nothing, the marines have been conducting secret maneuvers on a county of my country (Argentina) for purposes yet unkown... the mayor of the city complained about it and misteriously his house was burned down and his son died... coincidence perhaps ?
Moreover, WTH could they want in my country ? We don't have petroleum

Just as expected. After Syria, it would probably be Iran, or Libya, or North Korea. Perhaps N. Korea would be the last one. Well, it's up to Darth Bush to decide.

As said before, once the US military industrial complex gets going theres no stopping it. I read an interesting comparison the other day Bush and the Roman Conquers.

Won't be invading my country either .. since I am an American
![]() But anyways, we should put in some filter that changes when people say "Americans" or "US" and make it change to "US Government or The Bush Administration" .. well people say US or Americans it kind of makes it sound like all Americans are this way which is not true by any means .. or even US Military. As some of you know Dark Watcher is a US Marine and went to IRAQ, which is his patriotic duty, but he is a great person and people like this shouldn't be grouped as one when we never did anything wrong to begin with. Just tired of seeing Americans being bashed on when we are no different then most of you, we are all part of the human race after all. I feel as though it discriminatory and shouldn't be allowed on the boards .. no different then racist remarks in my eyes.

As I've said before. I don't like 'the American people', but I do like Americans.... I just hope people get what I'm saying....
It's kinda as Tommy Lee Jones put in MiB 'A person is smart. People are stupid'.

When we say Us its clear its the Us government or would all the american people go and invade a country, i dont think they can. But if its ok for you then we can change it to a more defined phrase like Us government. We didn't intend to offend americans but the government.

In this thread it is fine, just wanted to say it before it started. (preemptive strike
)Also another thing that bothers me is biased opinions and misinformation about factual information when it comes to history and current events, but I guess that can't be helped. Just wish there was more sense being used when arguing a point ... Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that, but when trying to use facts for an arguement I tend to see people post some pretty ridiculous stuff that is not helping anyone and just spreading misinformation. Main reason I tend to avoid religous, political, and international arguements .. just turns into nothing usefull and people tend to become dumber for reading it.

Thats true. for example i was reading the war thread and i was amazed ai how can people not know a little about history. They were talking about Usa in the wwII and there were so many versions, when one read to one book would have been enough to clear out things, even then, people tend to believe what they want with independence of what its historically right.

>You are very optimistic
Well... we are a biological threat to the world..... when US built Panama's channel, 3/4 of the soldiers and manpower were killed by Malaria... which is a disease most Colombians are inmune at..... like, if an asyntomatic person (+++++ and still walking!) goes to the US, many US citizen could be in danger, and the US doesn't have the resources to fight such a disease.... many lifes could e lost before a massive effort could be effective and that is a really simple example |

I'm suppose to be supporting my country, but only for the Iraqi war. There is gonna have to be some very hard evidence if we plan to do the same with Syria. I guess Bush won't be happy until the whole middle east is a burning crater
