Cable Modem Problem

I got a cable modem yesterday and everything runs perfect...getting good pings, websites are loading quick...but on kazaa when i want to download something...it maxes out at like 3 kb a second...confused i am...

Let's see.....KaZaA is P2P, therefore both sides have to be fast to get high speed downloads. Hence the name of P2P.

Yeah, Kazaa isn't the fastest thing around. I have cable modem and often times can't even get more than 1 KB... The network isn't well-optimized, so you really need to download from 3 or more users to get decent transfer rates.

it depends if your getting the file from a guy who's on a dial-up then 6-1kb per sec. is the most you could probably squeeze, getting a file from someone even if theirs only 1 would benefit both if they have good connections.

What does the 'supernode' mode mean anyways?

Alright...cable modem fixed...bt i just started up my new computer and its been taking a while "dtecting IDE drives"...how long does this normally take? and the IDE cable have 2 other ends...which goes for hard drive...the middle end or the end end?
same with CD-rOM

it should take a few seconds, well for me.......uhhh I can't remember anything about IDE cables for some reason
