The only one I really ever liked/played was mortal combat 2 on the snes. I dunno why but thats the only one I ever did like, even though they all play the same.

no, the early version of this game is not 3d, it's a 2d game with image-capture of real people as fighters. that is why it is called "mortal"

So there are actually people dressed up in ninja suits kicking each others ass? In real life?

The game was bloddy and fun. Great Beat'em Up, but not as good as SF2.

I thought it was called Digitized Graphics. may be I'm wrong./

Mortal Kombat was fun yes. Not MK3 nor MK4. I am yet to try out the new one.

Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3 all featured retarted people dressed up in costumes as the fighters. MK4 and now the newest MK are the only 3D versions of the game.

Too much blood for such PPL (The average human has about 5litres of blood while MK ppl spill more than 100 times more blood)

>no, the early version of this game is not 3d, it's a 2d game with image-capture of real people as fighters.

It's digitised versions of people in the original MK. In 2,3 and Trilogy, they were drawn like the Street Fighter characters. MK4 was full 3D.

>that is why it is called "mortal"

No. Mortal Combat means Fighting or fought to the death; unrelenting. That's why it is called that. The K is a deiliberate Misspelling.

>some of us really like this game...why?

The first MK was crap. No competition for the monolith Street Fighter. The second wamuch better (IMO the best of the bunch), but was still plagued by the annoying control system and the really over the top blood. Street Fighter 2 used blood, t it was very understated and well done, as did Dead Dance (My favorite 2d fighter on the SNES).
Mortal Kombat 3 stretched it too thin, and MK 4 was just crap ojn a stick.

i prefered MK to SF, i was never fond of the moves being down to front, up to down, punch+kick, full circle, up to the back to the down up front (you get the point) and you end up shooting out a fireball that they jump over. i much prefer a simple back back punch and you throw out a spear AND he says "get over here"/"come here"
the new MK is great, with all the different fighting styles. i wish i had a new gen console so i could play it. any idea if it'll come out for PC?

You think Mortal Kombat is bloody?? Then you haven't seen Killer Instinct for the SNES!! This one was so much better than any MK! (IMO) Performing those combos was almost an art when you did it the right way.

Heh. I was always a fan of the series. I've played all of them, and I think the newest is best, and the second is, well, second, given their times. The third and fourth of the series was crap.
The newest installment features real martial arts, btw.

MK2 was the only good MK game IMO.. Mk1 was too simplistic and could easily be won with one stupid trick.. Quick forward hop + low punch.. MK's after Mk2 got too exagerated for their own good..
