Exclamation First human clone born!

Take a look at this!

Is this a hoax? Or is this something out of Attack of the Clones!?

Or maybe like Rei from Evangelion?!

Actually, its totally true. At my church, a geneticist was speaking, and she mentioned that the first human clone was due to be born in January. Personally, I think its totally wrong.... Its only a matter of time now

Interesting none the less. I don';t have a problem with cloning so long as its consentual to the person it's being done too. Assuming its not a hoax.

The only question I have is why they dont use such smart scientists to help cure disease and viruses and all that shiz before over populating the earth even more.

What about the consequences this will bring? Quit joking and take this seriously. I heard that cloning humans was illegal. How was this done? I don't want to imagine what this will do to politics everywhere... cloned presidents destined to rule forever maybe... this is just sick. Humans shouldn't mess with nature.

It's only illegal in some countries. I heard some time ago that there are already three women bearing clones inside. Of course, where are they is a complete secret.

This is an interesting issue but...

This technology has no unique ethical issues behind it. As long as we treat the clone with the same respect as a human child, I find nothing unethical about cloning. Cloning might seem bizarre now but I think in time, we'll learn to deal with it just like the internal combustion engine. I really think it is foolish to bar such research in the US since it will advance somewhere in the world and the US will be left behind. For now, the achievement is like landing on the moon, just a scientific milestone. Who knows, it might make many childless couples happy or be useful in many unforseen circumstances.

Hoax, period. Considering the "achievement" was done by someone with literally NO track record of any kind (research, papers, or pretty much anything else), it's about as likely to be true as me saying I'm a talking cat. People don't jump from one subject to the next and suddenly be better at it than the experts who've been around in it for decades.

even if it is a clone, it wont be the same person considering their personalities. its like twins. they look alike n they have the same dna, but they have different personalities, n wont be a president if they chose not to.

well, at first, it is a fact that there is no such thing as the perfect copy. a clone will always have a shorter lifespan due to genetical errors, thereas he will not achieve the same possibilities as a normal human.
and second, you do realize what the whole clone-thing is all about? its only about dublicating parts of humans to "fix the original"
like if some vital organ of you needs a replacement, they just mix some clone of you, take whatever they need and throw the rest away. very ethical, really.
and another thing, thats even more scary. as soon as they produce humans like this, it means that it wont take long until they start playing with genetical engineering.

Boisselier, however, did not present DNA evidence showing a genetic match between mother and daughter. That omission leaves her claim scientifically unsupported.
Just another idiot.

But what's the problem with cloning someone anyway? How are identical twins cool, and clones sick?
