Final Fantasy Remakes?

Does anyone know if Square is planning to remake Final Fantasy 7-9 on the PS2. I heard about a couple of years ago...but nothing since then. If anyone has any info please tell me. Thanks!!

Well they made "official" that there will be a FFXIII and the creators of ffVII would like a FFVII-2

They also said there are no plans to make a FF7 - 2 either.

Nothing is for sure. I hope they may still go with making the remakes but when square lost all the money for FF:TSW they didnt have the funds to make remakes and didnt think it would sell that well. But i think once square gets back on track they just might make remakes. And by then it will probably be for the ps3!!

Ya i know ps3 right but i was reading in magazines they already have prototypes for it and will most likely be releasing it for the year 2005 (no lie!)

The so far announced FF titles which are due out till early 2004 are:

FFX-2 (A sequel to FFX)
FFXI (A MMORPG)
FFXIII (Another new FF game)

I sure hope they'd do a remake of FF7...though Im hoping more for another FFT.

whats MMORPG?

n i dont think there should be a sequel or nething like that if the game was great cuz it can ruin the original game or something like that. but unless the story isnt finished, then thats another story

Depends on the MMORPG. In the case of FFXI, it's a ridiculously high amount as a base fee and an additional monthly fee per character if you plan on having more than one character.

Because servers take money to maintain and pay to developers/world admins. The problem of B.net being free is that the servers suck most of the time.

Also, Battle-net is essentially just loading maps, where in the case of MMORPGS its a contantly changing dyanamic world; Also the fact that the people on the server end is storing all the info for your character, where as with Diablo/2 your realm character is on your harddrive IRRC.
