D&D rules and games.

Neverwinter Nights uses 3rd edition AD&D rules or just D&D rules?

What's the difference?

Who here plays PnP D&D?

/me begs for this not to get moved to the games forum.

What's wrong with the games forum?

(Sorry, but I have nothing to add about the actual question. I have not played NWN or D&D)

Games forum, isn't that just for pc games?
I am talking mainly about the rules.

A better question is, is there such thing as AD&D 3rd edition ruleset or is it just D&D 3rd edition ruleset? Or is there both?

Nope Neverwinter uses the D&D rules, afaik there is no AD&D any more as its all been updated from the 2nd edition to the 3rd and is just called D&D now.
<a href="http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/misc/file/3rd_edition_dungeons_and_dragons.txt">Heres</a> a general overview of the new rules...

No problem K.I.L.E.R, I started playing NWN and noticed the rules were considerably different from the AD&D I remembered playing in other games and the PnP version (as Im sure you noticed as well) so I had a look around to find out why it was different and came across that link I posted.
I dont play the PnP version no more and havent for years (since my secondry school days) but I used to be really into it.

I was familiar with it's rule system as I have read a lot about 2nd edition AD&D rules. I'm kind of stuck in between the 3rd edition D&D and 2nd edition AD&D systems.

Some aspects are a lot better on the 2nd edition PnP than 3rd edition PnP.
NWN isn't using the full PnP rules which was a shock to me. I much prefer the D6 system over the D20 system though. I guess that is because I am so used to it.

Though luckily there is a mod (hak pak?) that allows you to take full advantage of 3rd edition PnP ruleset.

If you are intrested.
