Help! Anyone speak german?

Ok my super has handed me a paper which I need to read before the end of the day. Unfortunately it's in German and my language skills leave much to be desired. Plus babelfish is down ATM :eyes:.

Anyone tell me what the hell this means???

Mengen der Kontinuumslösungen, bsw diskreten eigenfunktionen des ungestörten hamilton operators

Yeah I just noticed. I've found another translator which is giving me better results, but it still screws up with some of the more complicated phases.

I'm getting "Quantities of the Kontimuumslösungen, bsw discrete eigenfunctions of the unperturbed hamilton operator" which would make sense if I knew the middle phase....

*edit * Any clues with this

Die asymptotische propagation wird in störungstheorie 1. Ordnung im wechselwirkuns potential v behandelt

Looks like it deals with asymptotes, which I don't want to touch with a ten-foot pole for any reason. :eyes:

I'll whip out my handy translation proggy and see.

In that case my translation proggy won't help a bit.

No offense, but this looks as if someone just tried to combine as many difficult words as possible - even a german has problems understanding all of these (additionally, there're typos here and there)

That's the problem I'm having. They can't handle quantum mathematics.

*edit* Great. If a german can't read it then I'm screwed.

Yeah... a babelfish-ish translation of this wouldn't be very useful. I couldn't completely translate it either, but I do see science-ish words that aren't exactly ordinary. Even if these words were in English it'd be difficult to understand.

Literal translation give me the following:

1. Quantities the continuum slösungen bsw discreet own functions of the undisturbed hamilton operation.

2. The asymptote propagation becomes in disturbance theory 1 order in the interaction potential take treated.

... Sometimes you just have to guess and chop the big foreign words into smaller pieces. Of course, having to make sense of this mangled English translation is your bad luck.
I can't help you with "slösungen" or the abbreviation "bsw" though.

edit: "ungen" translates as "undisclosed/unknown".

Why the heck does someone even want to give something like this to someone who can barely(i presume) read german.... when native germans even have got trouble reading it?

My guess is one of 2 reasons:

a: He couldn't be arsed translating it himself

b: Patrice has fallen behind and they felt that this would keep me busy.

Oh and I only posted 2 sentences. The whole thing is 7 pages long
