Question Help... should i get isdn?

Hi everybody, I'm currently connecting my internet with a 56k modem. My connection speed is at 50.6kps, my internet connection is really slow for me (Since i dl alot of anime). I was planning on upgrading my internet connection to a single isdn. Which is 64k, I don't have enough money for dsl or cable, should i get it? It just cost $5 more from the isp im using right now. Does it really make a difference on downloading? The max speed i could dl was 5.8kps. I really need to know if its worth it. Thx for those who reply.

If the additional cost is only $5, then I suggest you do it. Every single kbps is useful for modem users like us.

The future for residential high speed internet is not with ISDN.

Go with DSL or cable.

In the first post he told everyone that he did not have enough money for cable, so suggesting it to him will not help.

SuperTrooper, go for ISDN if you want. You will probably get 2k more bandwidth, which is still helpful if you are only downloading at 5k.

True, that is what he said at the beginning.

Then he said:

Personally you won't see much results with an added 2k for large files for ISDN.

Not as much as an added 100k from DSL.

i don't think it's worth the 5 bucks...you'll still be downloading overnight, you'd probably only get a few 10-20 minutes off. although you could use the phone while you download. that _is_ an advantage.

It's far too expensive for a stop gap.

What about the modem? You'll need a new one, no? That'll cost money too...
But I wouldnt go for ISDN. I'd wait and take DSL later on if I were you..

most companies' subscription includes the modem/phone + the two lines. (well, here in Hungary they do include them)

ISDN only $5 more...? That's odd... Over here, it's about $40 more expensive than DSL/cable. And yet, the bandwidth is so tiny. I wish I lived where u are back when there was no DSL/cable
