How would you go about sueing the police over brutality?

Any info would be extremely appreciated. I live in Australia so I'm not sure if laws would be similar over in the USA.

Comon people my mum was beaten up by the police and she's 53 yrs old

Police just came over and asked my mum to open up the door and she thought they were comning in good faith. Instead they come over and beat her up
No arrest or rights were made/read. They just came in and beaten her.

Don't know about Australian laws; but if that is truly what happened (Sounds a little one sided, but I really don't know), I guess the first step would be to contact a lawyer.

Police go into your house they don't say a thing they just start beating the crap through my mum without even saying a word. Take the keys of your house and then throw them somewhere in the front yard. You are telling me it's 1 sided. What defense will those 2 police have? "Oh I was just checking the neighbourhood and I decided to beat the crap through an older women after asking her to open the door to us".

I am just saying that sounds so bad that it is hard for me (or a jury) to believe. I am not saying it did not happen though. Like I said, get a lawyer, quickly.

Then it sounds like you got a good case. I am sure you will still need a lawyer to persue it though. (At least you certainly would in the US). Also, are you sure they were real cops and not some thugs dressed up as cops?

This is what you should do.

1.Go get some brass knuckles (Hope you know what to do with them )

2.Track down who did it.

3.Tie them up and have fun.

Doing this to the police isn't exactly a good idea. (In general, it is)
The problem is you can't do any harm to the police. Everybody's on their side.

I don't know if this helps but here we have a police ombidsman to whom complians of this nature are to be referred to. I would be surprised if Austrailia did not have a similar system.
