You can't view the snes in englishshelf.jpg and japaneseshelf.jpg . I assume you are talking of the difference between the famicom and nes but that isn't it.

Yes. It also caused medical problems for a number of people who tried to play it.

I have heard complaints about getting headaches or seeing green after playing but I never had a problem. The red graphics were not one shade of red which some may think.

The link in my sig is a pretty good source for vb info.

Here is a heart warming tale I would like to share from virtual-boy.net.

A good deed makes the world go virtually round - January 11, 2002 @ 06:37 PM GMT+1 ~ FerryG
We receive lots of questions relating to Virtual Boy each month, as you will soon see in the upcoming Frequently Asked Questions section, but two months ago I got an email in my inbox that touched my heart. At first I thought it was just another request for a VB for sale, which it was, but as I read the story told to me I couldn't bare selling this lady who devoted her life to helping others my spare Virtual Boy. So I decided to contact my friend Neil in America and forwarded him this touching email, we decided to both donate this lady our spare VB's & games. Neil called the phonenumbers given to us to confirm the trustworthyness of the story and after talking to the lovely Molly everything was confirmed. Little did we know our donations disproved the most common misconception about Virtual Boy, that it is bad for children and hurts their eyes, which the below shown emails, much to our obliged, will irrefutably prove wrong for most people over the age of 6. To understand the whole story take your time to read these emails (personal info removed) and I hope that if in the future more help could be used others will lend a hand aswell, rest assure we'll let you know if that is the case. Now I need to go to play my Virtual Boy! *(^_^)*

Hi. I am a new pediatric psychologist at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera CA. I used to work at Children's Hospital in New Orleans where the virtual boy was instrumental in helping patients with pain management. The VB is very useful during painful medical procedures, such as burn care, because it distracts the child from the pain and they become "lost in the game." Unfortunately we do not have a VB at Valley Children's Hospital and I was dismayed to learn that they are no longer manufactured. Do you have any helpful suggestions on how I can locate a used VB. I really appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you. Molly, Ph.D.

Hello Ferry, Thank you so much for your help. The patients at Valley Children's Hospital will really appreciate you. I would love to have the e-mail address of your friend. My phone number at the hospital is ... (psychology office) or ... (my direct office line). Please let your friend know that he is welcome to speak to any personnel at the hospital to confirm our intentions for the virtual boy. If he would like, I could provide a list of people he may want to speak with. Thanks again, Molly.

Dear Ferry, Thank you so much for your help and contacting Neil. He was very kind. Another virtual boy would be very helpful as there are several units in the hospital (e.g., oncology, hematology, pulmonology, etc). Also two children may need the vb at the same time. I feel bad having you ship it all the way from Holland, and the children and staff at the hospital really appreciate your effort. Everyone at the hospital is so excited that there was an international response to our need. Thanks again, Molly.

Hi Ferry! Happy new year to you too. I just returned from my holiday vacation to find the best present - the virtual boy was sitting in my office. It had arrived over the holidays. The box was opened on one end but everything looks fine and works!! I am wondering if they opened it to check it carefully at the post office since everyone is on high alert following 9/11/01. Thank you again for your generous contribution to the hospital. Since Neil's donated virtual boy is being used on our medical rehabilitation unit, your's will likely go to the oncology unit to serve as a distraction while children receive injections and chemotherapy. Thanks again. Everyone at the hospital sends their greetings, especially the children. Molly.
