More sleep = shorter life?

On TV, I was watching this show and they said that people that sleep more have shorter lifespans than people that dont sleep as much!

That means I am going to gave a short life since when I don't have to get up early for school I have about 10-11 hours of sleep.

Well, that sucks for me.

Anyways, how much sleep do you guys get?

Yep,I also watched it on TV.
Sleep too long will live shorter.
BTW there are no any certain evidence to prove 100% it true.
Just enjoy your life.

yeah, thats it. never sleep again, and you'll be in tip-top shape. i did hear however that meditation is supposed to be very rejuvenating. so maybe if all you do is meditate and not sleep, you could be immortal!

About 5-6 hours usually. Less if there's a deadline looming.

I sleep 8 to 10 hours a night, and I'll continue to sleep that way, higher risk or not.

I sleep 7-8 hours a day and I think it's a good number.

hmm

Think what they are saying is not scientific...more analytical...think about it... The more you sleep...the less hours you have to experience life.....so in essence someone who sleeps 4-5 hours spends 19 to 20 hours living life...someone sleeping 10-11 only get 13-14 hours.....Doing this overtime would equal years of life wasted...heh

Scientifically your body requires at least 8 hours of sleep...anything less may cause your body to become prone to illness....young people may not get as effective...older folk will though

Longer sleep time = better feeling, but shorter life

OR

Shorter sleep time = cranky feeling, but longer life

Well I can't live my whole life feeling cranky, so back to sleep. Zzzzz

I could get my 8-10 hours of sleep every night but I would have to go to bed early cause I wake up around 7-7:30 in the morning to go to school which starts at 8:40. It so hard to go to bed at 9 o'clock!

that's not really possible since your organs will fail soon or later, but living forever would be pretty cool if you like your self...like i wouldn't want to live forever in this body...

If you would live forever, you would still age and you will get very, very wrinklely by the time you would be 100+. I wouldn't like to live THAT long.

no because when you age it means your body is starting to fail...so in order to live forever...you'd have to be forever in youth...that means you would keep growing(imagine how big you'd get)

Heh, that would be funny. Being hundred of years old and being a giant but still youthful.
