Is this site becoming anti religious? I'd like to know as I never bashed anyone who's gay, while I've stated I think it's sinful behavior, everyone has the right to live as they see fit. I'm not interested in involving myself in anyone's sexuality other than mine and my girlfriend.

Sheesh, I get personally attacked and I never said anything against anyone...

The site isn't anti-religious its just that some members feel very strongly about the topic and can't help themselves making their opinions public whenever the sensitive topic 'religion' or anything that remotely implies religion comes into the foray and things begin to turn ugly. It happens everywhere and not just this site. Best way to deal with it is to try and ignore it.

I would think however some people need to be held to standards, if you want to have a messageboard, it should be the exchange of beliefs. Look, I never have interfered in anyone's sexual behavior on this site, and member here can screw any gender they want, but Cid defended bashing me and others and considers having religious beliefs as close minded and religious members here are supposed to STFU and accept such judgments? and Squall makes bigoted comments and that's ok as usual? Pardon me, but both seem narrow minded...

Look if members here can't handle the fact that some people have religious beliefs and will stand up for them, then ban religious people. I'm not going to shut up on my beliefs, nor do I think I or anyone else should be expected to STFU because some hateful atheists want to discuss their hatred of Christianity but want to censor those they disagree with.

Nobody should ever have to shut up about their beliefs, and nobody should ever be banned for being religious or following that particular path. And yes as a message board people have to be held accountable for what they say and how they treat other members and it is sad and incredibly annoying that religion is becoming an easy target for broad and open attacks.

Just like every other forum however everyone's opinion is up for scrutiny whenever someone takes offense or takes things too personal and too close to the heart. My suggestion, to all members, is that when things do become hateful, disrespectful then to report that member or to write to an admin or a mod explaining the situation. It isn't fun but it is all we can do without escalating the situation first hand by leaving comments in this public forum.

In the end everyone should be able to speak their mind, but they should be cautious about how they say it. Obviously some members here don't care and it does ruin it for others, unfortunately it is just how it goes.

unfortunately this does happen and there is not much you or I can do about it except deal with it and move on.

Guys I have to say that much like you I do not like nor enjoy the rather nasty or vicious side that some members like to adhere to on these forums, and I think that it is unfair that Paratech is often given a hard time with regards to some of these topics (even when he takes no part in them) but all I can say is to try and ignore the person, take it to a higher authority, and if that fails try and walk away from whatever the situation is. emuforums is a very personal forum, and many of us open up quite a bit on here (a great deal more so than any other forum I have seen) and we get to know each other rather well over time (which is why I feel this forum is so great), but there are some who feel that they need to be high and mighty by stepping on others opinions without much care or consideration. And to those people I say boo-urns.

I sense irony in that post, in fact, I sense a lot. I hope you have the sense Squall that all arabs and muslims are not the same, just like Westerners aren't all oil hunting bible humpers who condemn the entire Muslim community for the irrational acts of a few.

So far I sense quite a bit more respect from them towards others here than the other way around. I don't see anything wrong with someone frowning when a rather foreign concept comes up, such as same sex relationships, it's a natural response when you see something new and "strange" according to your own standards.

Anyway, so much for this interesting thread. If anyone would feel the need to open up one again about the same topic, feel free to do so.
