Whether or not I use Usenet has no bearing on bittorrent's suckiness. It would still suck if Usenet didn't exist, it would just be the best choice, though a sucky one. It causes needless traffic saturation and requires too much babysitting to maintain a ratio on private trackers.

The more you whine about BitTorrent, the more you sound like a typical n00b who gets pwned on torrents comment boxes.

1) Public trackers are alright, you just have to make sure there are a lot of them on a torrent, and come from larger sites, TPB and IsoHunt trackers rarely not work. I have never used private trackers to date even though my connection has a faster upload speed cuz public trackers work fine if you just bother to spend a minute to analyze them!

2) WTF is wrong if the client opens up even 100 connection? Get a half-decent router that can handle those and shut up You also complain about it hogging CPU resources... WTH are you running there? An E8400 or a Pentium MMX?

3) Its free......

Exactly. We are all individuals and if we all liked the same things, the world would be a wreck. So if u see that bittorrent has it's own advantages, use it since u know it rocks! And if u use usenet and u know it has it's own advantages, use it bcos u know it's awesome!

Work my job for awhile. Once you've dealt with the network bull**** BT causes, you'll change your tune very quickly.

oh, I stopped downloading applications with torrents a long time ago, way too risky. besides, I noticed that there's usually a free/open source alternative available for your favourite app that has most of the features you need anyway.

and then there's the odd case where I actually pay for (non-gaming) software....
