You're right, you don't contract the disease from eating pork. However, our love for the meat led to pigs being cultivated. I think this was the point kingfire was trying to make, even if the point was pretty impractical.

Like many vaccines, the H1N1 vax is created using animal tissue - in particular monkey kidneys. Let's not forget what history has taught us about this. The polio vaccine gives us the most obvious lessons to learn from:

Polio vaccines and the origin of AIDS
//One theory of the origin of AIDS is that it developed from contaminated vaccines used in the world's first mass immunisation for polio. There are a number of reasons why this theory is plausible enough to be worthy of further investigation.

* The location coincides dramatically. The earliest known cases of AIDS occurred in central Africa, in the same regions where Koprowski's polio vaccine was given to over a million people in 1957-1960.
* The timing coincides. There is no documented case of HIV infection or AIDS before 1959. Centuries of the slave trade and European exploitation of Africa exposed Africans and others to all other diseases then known; it is implausible that HIV could have been present and spreading in Africa without being recognised.
* Polio vaccines are grown (cultured) on monkey kidneys which could have been contaminated by SIVs. Polio vaccines could not be screened for SIV contamination before 1985.
* Another monkey virus, SV-40, is known to have been passed to humans through polio vaccines. A specific pool of Koprowski's vaccine was later shown to have been contaminated by an unknown virus.
* In order for a virus to infect a different species, it is helpful to reduce the resistance of the new host's immune system. Koprowski's polio vaccine was given to many children less than one month old, before their immune systems were fully developed. Indeed, in one trial, infants were given 15 times the standard dose in order to ensure effective immunisation.//

Its not about how many swine flu has infected so far....the fear is about the genetic mutation that can make Tamiflu(the only drug in the market against it) ineffective......

If that becomes true i wouldn't be surprised to find anywhere around a million people dead by this(due to respiratory problems caused by the virus)....it had happened in the past it would happen again.

Tamiflu is useless against swine flu, period.
If your healthy, not overweight and eat right. H1N1 and any possible mutagens will be nothing.

like i said, Tamiflu is useless.
it doesn't reduce the severity of the flu at all, just the longetivity... by 1 measly day.

just let your immune system handle it, keep up the fluids, and high vitamin foods and you'll be fine.

...as to that polio vaccine... it explains the initial infections of aids.....

I just saw in the news now. Brazil has 339 deaths of swine flu. crap.... USA has 353 and Argentina has 337

In the whole world this flu has already killed 1.462

some one asked why media creates a false propoganda, well all media care are about the number of people that view ther media meaning more people view their media more money in their pockets

creating propoganda makes people worry and when the media say they got the latest info everyone (the ones that are dumb i mean) will rush to get the latest info...

i would like to see the news on tv where they dont care about ratings or money and just news as it how its... but as with anything like advertising they they just trying to earn a quick buck off the dumb people...

what i thinks is worse is the amount of flu medication advertisements lately, sure people say its the flu season but I never seen so much ads on tv, on buses and bill boards esepcially when it advertises that it takes cares of syptoms commonly found in swine flu, still people dont believe me, when i say that they trying to cash in the dumb people who worry about the swine flu, dumb enough to think such medicine makes a difference... still the proof is this, these medicines are new ones, never seen before and specifically advertise the syptoms that are common with swine flu...

remember everyone is just trying to make a quick buck off the dumb people and sadly all retail shops are the same nowadays

To be more specific, your local news is lying to you. Here it depends on which station you watch. Some say it's no different from regular flu (or even less dangerous) and some make it sound like it's the end of the world.
