its what it has become to represent,

one trick i used to use in times like these is well you know that sweet that looks like a ring, and you can eat it, give her that when she says this, and if she gets p***** you now can call her a gold digger, As you probably guessed it doesnt work to well but the reaction is fun to watch.

It's not the "ring". It's the point of the ring. When you get a ring for a woman, it shows commitment. When she wears it, she gets to show the world that she is taken by you and that you have both made that vow to be married until death do you part. So it's not the actual ring...she wants the meaning behind the ring. I'm sure if you got her even a cheap ring, as long as you are giving it to her with your heart in the right place, then she will love and accept that ring and treat it as if it was worth 10 million dollars.

Remember, even though a lot of women are materialistic, we are very emotional creatures first. The meaning behind the ring is what counts. Not how much it costs or how big the diamond is. You know your wife. Do you think she is being materialistic? If she is, then she is not thinking about the meaning of the ring. If she is more of an emotional woman (like all women are), all she cares about is what the ring means.
