Tragic movie but decent. I heard great reviews of the movie, but it wasn't as intense and I would have liked it to be. Still decent.

7.5/10

Next on my list to see:

Appleseed 2
Tropic Thunder (this time for sure )
You said you'd watch that 2 weeks ago and you still havn't seen it

Get Smart

At first I was a little skeptical about the whole idea of doing a remake of the classic Get Smart of which I have a lot of fond memories, but the film as a whole was pretty darn good. Steve Carell managed to channel some of the quirks from the original series while maintaining his off beat style of awkwardness, making Maxwell Smart a good character with enough depth to actually care about him, Ann Hathaway as 99 did well as she looked just like the original and brought some good sex appeal to the film and worked well with Carell, but the chemistry between them wasn't 'quite' there, but was close. And of course Alan Arkin as the chief was nothing short of brilliant.

Good clean humor, some witty dialogue, some comical yet gripping action, this was definitely a Get Smart film. Peter Segal as director did quite well, and a second film sounds like a good idea to me.

9.2/10
Good stuff

The Incredible Hulk

After Ang Lee's portrayal of the Hulk, which was really a movie about a scientist and his daddy issues a fresh take on the inception of the big angry green man is quite welcome. Focusing on what makes the core of the hulk a good franchise, the struggle of Banner to remove the Hulk from him and the bone crushing action this new visioning of the film manages to hit most of the right spots of what makes a good comic book action film.

Edward Norton is very good at portraying Banner, and after a look at the behind the scenes he really did put a lot into the creation of his persona, including a new technique (not even a year old since its inception) to create realistic facial expressions for the Hulk. Liv Tyler was quite good as Betty and the CG of the Hulk makes the previous character look quite ridiculous (having the hulk more slender but ripped to the bone was a good decision).

Overall, good action, solid acting from Norton and well directed.

8.9/10

8.9 ? Why not 9?

anyway, I agree 100%. For the first Hulk, I'll add it was creepy; Ang lee didn't really know how to represent M.Green.
The second was almost perfect. And Hulk looked more "realistic", exit the green giant polished baby. But I found the combat ending a bit....simple and rushed.

That is what I was thinking as well. I was a little let down by the length of the final fight (even though the brutality of it was well done). Also being set in New York for the final scene, to me that setting just feels so tired, especially in direct contrast with the Rio scenes at the beginning of the film which were quite breathtaking.

Downey did play a good role in that movie. He is really doing good with his career now. Though, I saw the movie last night and I thought that it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. Major lulz are too far and wide in between. 6/7 out of 10. :/ I expected more from such an overhyped movie.
