5/10 if I should give jumper a note. Great potential but awful way to scene it and crappy character's use.

Sorry, I meaby didn't expressed myself correctly; I was talking about the "mise-en-scene". I didn't found it great. Too long scenes (the scene when the hero come back to his town or the museum part), Unexplained facts (Why the hell do the Chaser chief do his knife ritual for killing jumpers???)....

Unexplained things are the key to the story. I watch the movie from the movie's logic and not mine, otherwise every other fantasy or sci-fi movie would be a waste of time for me.

Yeah, but if you watch it without thinking that the guy you are seeing is THE King Arthur, and that other is THE Lancelot you can enjoy it as a good adventure/epic movie.
Afterall, the thruth about the historical existence of King Arthur, Lancelot and the other knights is still debated and not entirely known.

If you wish to dispute this then there must be a battle to define the winner. Being the current champion Gladiator@ has pickings on the battle location and stipulations of the match.

I'll rather say a mean to make sequels in this case. The killing ritual could have been explained in the first Jumper(I believe there will be others).

I understand. But I think there are some things you can let being illogical because it well deserves the story and you don't notice them too much, others you find completely ridiculous because it's too obvious.

Whats there to understand? The dude was a religious freak. He capture jumpers and then stab them to death . It was no super confusing magical ritual that needed to be explained. He didn't sacrifice goats or spilled holy water. He just paralyzed them, took out a knife and kill them. Is not complicated.

I don't even want to see them - I read books 1-5 and watched movies 1-5 in the theater and all I can say is that apart from the first film I hated all the rest, mostly because of complete inconsistencies with the plot of the book with massive chunks of the story that held a significant relation to the main characters being cut out to stick some other made up parts that weren't niether interesting nor funny.

Disappointment is the only word which best describes my view of the film series...my dad however is a whole different story - every month he asks me when the next film comes out, don't even know why...

Yeah I feel the same way, I stopped watching them after the second film was released. I've only seen 3 + 4 because they were shown on the telly :P

I have understood the capture part. But you didn't understood the term ritual. I didn't talk about any sacrifice here. Did you notice the way he kills the jumpers? Every jumper?
*He takes a knife from a sort of tissue.
*then he carefully cleans it with the tissue.
*then he always disembowel the jumper from the bottom to the top.
*then he carefully cleans the knife and put it back in place.

You also have noticed the knife is not so "young"?
Why doesn't he simply take a gun and make a headshoot? why doesn't he cut the throat of the jumpers? He always repeats the same movements for every jumper's killing thus that is a ritual.

I think every ritual has a mean. Otherwise that is pure waste of time and lack of efficiency. What was the mean of it knowing efficiency here can be put in question?(if Roland had skipped all that, he could have killed David.)

Hum...From what I have seen from the character, he doesn't do things for fun as he truly believe his mission is important.

Hum...I don't remember how many jumpers he kills. But IMO, he would have used the same way for every of them.At least I think.
