Nvidia stocks plunge
I was browsing through the local papers today and thought I'd check out the business section and I was surprised to find 'Nvidia' highlighted in the stock news. Interested, I read on and my jaw literally hit the floor. It seems Nvidia stocks plummeted 30.73% yesterday ($5.54 per share), a massive drop by any standards (in fact Nvidia stocks were among the biggest losers yesterday). Here's what the paper had to say:

This will just make them ripe for the picking by some other company like Intel. What's this "stiff competition" they're talking about? ATI?

Their arrogant attitude seems to be catching up to them

Subjective superiority aside, I always thought ATi and nVIDIA's sales were more-or-less equal. Or am I wrong? Let's take into account the fact that they produce motherboard chipsets as well, and there are a number of manufacturers of those.

Intel should buy nVidia

Seriously, hit up Newegg and read the customer reviews. They are are what stopped me from getting a Asus Striker. Thing Is, the 790i, while a good chipset, simply cannot match the x38 or x48 for sheer reliability.

I wasnt talking about nvidia motherboards, but intel boards if you look at like 90% of them they are junk, and you have to pay 100's of dollars to get a good intel board. Which could be matche dor even better by something like an abit for cheaper.

Ermmm, you do realize that most of the best motherboards in the word use Intel chipsets, right? If it wasn't for Intel, every manufacturer would be stuck with VIA or something, and that's even worse

This problem is actually quite big. 4 of my coworkers got new laptops. They all got the T61p Thinkpad with the Quadro (?) nvidia chip inside. 3 of them have problems such as BSOD and freezing due to the graphics card.

I think Bubbafat means the motherboard manufactured by Intel not the motherboard that use Intel chipset.
And I agree with him I have such horrible experience with them.

Oh that's a diferent matter......but only a small percentage of boards are made by Intel themselves (mostly low end models)

Lol I feel bad for ndvidia. I feel bad for myself as well. I went to the supermarket to find out that food containers are not only smaller, but they cost more to.........Which defeats the purpose of the price going up and turns it into robbery. >_<

Not if Intel tries to go directly to the stockholders in a hostile takeover bid.

What, they're going to pull out of the public market? I'm sure cutting financing would help the situation.
Also, as the Board of the Directors would make the decision on what nVidia would do (not the shareholders), they wouldn't capsize the company to avoid being bought out as it would not be in the best interest of the company.
