Perfect Girl Evolution sure was a freakishly entertaining read, haha (especially the first chapters/volumes)
Yeah, I have only read the first volumes so far, but they are a riot (despite the art quality that jumps all over the place).

Funnily, while I tend to disregard animation and art quality as something complementary to the strong points I search for in an anime series (in constrast to story, character development, etc), I tend to value art quality in manga highly. Like in ARIA, which I forgot to mention

add Hellsing, Mai-Hime and Mai Otome in there as well. Not that I liked any of those, too fanservicy for my liking

Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO).
Dr. Slump.
Video Girl Ai.

I was buying these of the store shelves until aobut 9 months ago. Then I desided to put my money towards other things.

Haven't really read much manga since then. Maybe I'll start again.

Tell me what are some good ones out there besides kenshin, dbz, ranma, onepiece, Love Hina and lone wolf? Hmm actually scrap good, what are some wickedly awesome ones?

Negima. Definitely something wickedly addictive ;p
Chinese mangas are starting to look great too, lately, so a look at some of these might prove equally entertaining.

If you're into freakishly hilarious drammatic shounen mangas, I'll have to recommend a read at Ningen Kyouki Katsuo ;p

The manga is really good, like Phil said. I actually prefer the mange to the actual series that used to come on T.V

Is it similar to the anime or is the story completely different?

No its similar to the Anime (the first 2 or 3 volumes might be different but I can't remember as it was ages ago when I read them) but there are slight differences though, like in the Manga there is a bit of blood/killing involved and also its has the original japanese character names (Jonouchi=Joey). there might be some other differences but I can't remember.

Does it follow the anime all the way from Pegasus to the Dawn of the Duel Saga (Yugi as pharaoh in egypt) well minus all the filler sagas of course? Or does it stop earlier or arrive at a different ending?

Favourite series of mine are Nana, Paradise Kiss (Ai Yazawa ftw), Death Note (amazing at first though it got boring later on). I also enjoy reading Bleach, I've gone off the anime a bit. The animation is crap compared to the earlier episodes. Oh, and Fruits Basket is cute as hell.

I've read a few others but they're the series I've really stuck with. Hopefully I can get some inspiration for some new series from this thread.

Naruto and Bleach... I did read the first Hellsing at my friends place but I haven't seen him for few years.

I thought the perfect girl evolution's plot reminded of something but it was actually that I remembered it by its other name "the wallflower"... Is it good BTW? As anime I mean, its much easier to find as anime than manga.

At last I have a section to be enjoyable.
The last manga I've just read is Karin. Its ending is one of the best I've seen (maybe before was Rave master).
And I also like the story of Mahoraba too.
Is there anyone here read some old ones like GS mikami or Kotarou makaritooru ?

Finished reading 666 Satan (or O Parts hunter in some places) last night and I have to say, not bad for a first major work for the brother of artist+author of Naruto. You can easily tell both grew up with the same drawing style, they probably both influenced each other growing up. Like a lot of early works, the ending felt quite rushed but it actually was good. Why? The fights and drama doesn't drag out like it does in Naruto

Untrue, Naruto is older by a little over 2 years.

Naruto Release, 1999 of November (Yes people, it's been that long)

666 Satan Release, 2001 of December
