Most difficult bosses you've faced...

Hello everyone.
I've been thinking for myself lately, about the bosses in all the RPGs I have finished. It seems that some people have difficulties when facing certain bosses in certain RPGs. So, I would like to ask anybody's opinion about this. In any RPGs you've played, who is the most difficult boss to be defeated?
For myself, I'd like to say Indalecio in Star Ocean the Second Story. That man is one hell of an opponent.

I haven't played that many RPG's, but that book thingy in FF9 gave me a bit of trouble. Tantarian, I think it was called.

fujita: Do you mean most difficult bosses you HAVE to face, or most difficult bosses you CAN face?

I guess in Tokimeki Memorial you "play the role" of a high school guy..... so if that's the case, then Shiori Fujisaki is the hardest "boss" i've ever faced. Final Fantasy Weapons and Ozma couldn't hold a candle to this girl. Really. Once the translation comes out, I dare you to finish the game with her in less than 10 reloading of savestates/save games.

The samurai who you sort of have to beat to get the Murasame (there's actually a way around it, but I didn't know until after I'd taken the effort to kill him) in Live-a-Live was incredibly annoying. If you don't run around like mad, he can easily kill you in one or two hits. Esturk from DQ 5 also gets a nod for sheer amounts of pain (why couldn't he do that in DQ 4?).

Hello everyone.
Well, I've heard lots of people talk Tokimeki Memorial. I'm getting interested, is that a game for PSX? Has it has an English version?
Back to the topic, I think Ozma FF9 is quite difficult too. But you still can beat him with certain tactics. Honestly, I have never beaten Indalecio SO2. Not the normal Indalecio, but the limiter removed Indalecio. I fought him with all my characters at Level 255, and he still finished my party in less than a minute.

Yeah, it's a PSX game (at least for 1 and 2, Tokimemo 3 is a PS2 game), but Konami has no intentions to port it to english. so the next best thing is a snes translation patch, which is currently at about 50% completion. Interested parties can follow its progress at the link provided in my sig.

of course, this entails the acquisition of a Tokimeki Memorial super famicom rom, which is still pretty easy to find.

Personally I had a very hard time with Emerald Weapon in FF7. I lost to him about 10 times straight before I finally beat him. The thing is, I had lost to him so many times that when I finally did beat him I wasn't playing seriously or anything. I was just attacking and casting various spells and he died. The second hardest was Ruby I guess, but he was more tricky than difficult.

I haven't played against Ozma in FF9 yet. Still, Hades (I think he's called) was a pretty easy optional boss.

Omega Weapon in FF8 could have been hard, except for Holy Wars. I just used it on myself and repeatedly used Renzokuken + Lionheart on him. That limit break is so outrageously powerful.

Hey, what about the earlier FF games? I heard the boss of FF1 is pretty hard (never finished the game myself), and the boss of FF3 was quite challenging. FF4 (Japanese/difficult version) also had a powerful end boss.

Hello everyone.
When I was still playing FF7 several years ago, I really got troubles trying to beat Emerald and Ruby. I became very mad, and I trained my best characters (Cloud, Barret and Yuffie, of course) to max level. And trained my summoning materia to become master materia, so that I can do Knight of the Round without limit. After all that hardwork, I finally got to beat those two after several tries. So, I sit back and wipe all my sweat, satisfied.
But, I think Omega Weapon is a little easier to beat than Emmy and Ruby. Maybe it's because of those Holy Wars and Hero Drinks.

The final boss of FF1 was ridiculously easy, especially if you used Ryos' secret party of mass destruction (a fighter, two black belts, and a red mage). The final boss of FF3, on the other hand, was fairly difficult, even with the best classes available.

hardest boss I've ever played against is probably one I haven't beat yet...that would be Ruby & Emerald weapons in ff7.

as for just a plain hardass game I would say the arcade shooter xexex (in MAME)

I would have to say..

Ruby Weapon in FF7, and the end boss for chrono trigger... I hated both very much so lol. I think the end boss for Grandia 2 on dreamcast was very very dissapointing... very easy to kill.

hmm

Emerald / Ruby were simple once a pattern was established...just beat FF5.....as far as RPG's ..this guy (Neo XDeath)was one cheating bastard.....9 different target areas on his body...each throwing various magical attacks...and each one you kill makes the others attack more...once the last target is left he automaticlly casts Meteo and Comet back to back.... (That extra boss Cyberbot? was no slouch either)
