Shenmue Saving Problemo?(not formatting related)

My system specs:
C2D e6600
2gbs xms ddr2
7950gx2
P5N32 SLI Deluxe
Windows XP PRo

My Nulldc specs:
nullDC settings - enable dynarec, enable cp pass
null PVR - jan10, 1280X1024, stretch, versioned, triangled
image reader by - raz & gig
null aica - sync audio, mute cdda
maple - port A - xbox 360 for windows, nulldc vmu

I am having no problem playing the actual game(except that freezing when you open drawers to search, which I can handle ). At first I had problems with the vmu, but I figured out how to format that's not the trouble. I save in Ryo's room and then when I go to access that save when rebooted I am shown the saved file but it won't load it? It gives me this repeatedly, "Attempt to load the game unsuccessful. Retry loading of the game file". Then I rebooted without a game to check the file and it does show it there on the vmu? I can't use the shenmue quicksave in-game either it gives me the same error? Any help would be appreciated.

This is what the DOS screen in the backround says right after the Dreamcast startup in shenmue:

Error in .\dc\mem\sh4_internal_reg.cpp:ReadMem_area7:52 ->Unknown Read from Area7 addr=1f100008

Now what could that possibly mean?

Someone please let me know if I'm not being concise enough.

I think I figured it out. My VMU data port was only allowed to be opened by poweriso, so i went into the vmu properties and all I had to do was change it to open with the nulldc.exe and walla, that caused so much friggin frustration. I must have poweriso set to open all those types of files?

First off I'd like to thank all of you for helping.
