nullDC 1.0.0 beta 1.x Bug reports

Post bug reports about 1.x betas here (that is 1, 1.5, 1.6 and possibly others that will be released.) Include system specs and screenshots, as well as console log.

F8 will take a screenshot and save it in the nullDC directory.Compress em to jpeg/whatever (you can do that with paint, open the .bmp , save as .jpg).Yes, quality sucks, but unless you want to report some random noise problems it'l do the job.Feel free to use some other program to convert to jpg.

I will edit this threads with status on the bugs and delete non needed posts.Edits will be on bold red

If you want to upload the config file, upload it as ATTACHMENT, DO NOT PASTE THE TEXT.

Bugs I noticed so far (latest beta):

Ikaruga lvl 2 bullets are missing... I suppose this is very well known.

Chaos Field: start menu selection stripe corrupted, pause menu is super corrupted, a lot of sorting bugs. Chankast experienced the same thing, you had to fiddle with the z-write options to fix it there.
I'll make screenshots later.

screenshots, in order: main menu, pause menu, lifebar/remaining time corruption, sorting bugs, sorting bugs. The sorting problems are unaffected by sorting modes, in chankast they were affected by the z-write options. The main menu/pause menu were also affected, although having one of them in fixed mode usually caused the other to be corrupted.

all shots were made with default options, although I don't remember anything affecting them in nullpvr, after fiddling around.

For the love of god, do not use jpg with paint. Use png or something but not jpg in mspaint.

The synthesized sound in Ikaruga and Skies of Arcadia is broken with the Chanka AICA. It runs very fast and then cuts off. The Scroll Lock doesn't have any effect on this problem. The sound runs fine with the null AICA but lacks many instruments which the old Chanka AICA would play.

Dead or Alive 2 LE crashes after the first fight with null AICA but not Chanka AICA. The menu sound effect sticks and repeats in Virtua Fighter 3tb with null AICA. If this bug didn't happen the sound in VF3tb is practically perfect.

With Modifier Volumes set to Volumes, the shadows in Soul Calibur look normal but go through the character as shown in the attached screenshot. - This is a feature, not a bug.Volumes render the hole modifier volume. Its meant for debugging only.

The characters in the match intros of King of Fighters Dream Match 1999 are blurry and tiled. They don't look like this when the match starts.

The Nomad Soul displays only half of the screen when displaying menus and in-game but shows the whole screen when displaying FMVs. - Fixed on 1.0.0 beta 1.6

All graphics tested with nullPVR.

Shenmue 2 has clipping and transparency issues pretty much just like Shenmue 1.

The last shot is from Psyvariar 2 btw. Clipping seems to be the only major issue left with the emu I think, you guys are doing an amazing job!

Here's a brief summary of what I'm seeing in "PowerVR options -> Modifier volumes"

Off= Disables most shadows in games.

Normal (default) = Adds shadows to most games. However, this causes misplaced, flickering (glitchy) shadowing in alot of games - most noticable in racing games. This is clearly present in games like Crazy Taxi 2, Sega GT, 18 Wheeler.

Volumes = Causes very bad shadowing in almost every game I've seen.

See screenshots for examples. 1st one is with this set to "normal" and the next is with it set to "volumes".

And while we're on the topic, don't forget about the inaccurate shadows of NFL Blitz and NBA Showtime games. See screenshot below from Blitz that illistrates what I'm talking about.

Odd Project Justice bug - in the versus screen, the headshot of the character that's first in each team gets obscured by the headshot of the next character. Didn't show up in Beta 1, and adjusting all the video options don't seem to fix the problem. In response to Raziel's edit, the different sort modes don't change a thing; the bug shows up in all of them.

Test Drive V-rally--

The OSD elements in gameplay are overlaped by track textures. See screenshot for example. This makes the game playable, but not fun or pretty. I thought this worked fine in beta 1. FYI - Chankcast's PVR shows more graphics in the menus but has the same overlapping issues in gameplay. This occurs with default settings and also with everything else I tried.

NBA Showtime NBA on NBC--

The "Announcer" MUST be muted in game or else major audio distortions will occur. Happens with all 1.6 audio plugins (though using Elsemi's plugin causes the game to freeze at the "Today's Matchup" screen, which so happens to be where the first audio distortion occurs - coinencidence...hmm).

I just noticed something funny: If I turn on "Show FPS" it says it's in PAL480i50?

I'm using a US BIOS image, so i don't understand why it's defaulting to PAL??

Have you put cable type on VGA(0)?

It's set to TV VBS/Y + S/C. Should it be VGA 0?

He probably uses a PAL flash (which defaults at 50 hz).

Ya if you pick VGA(0) or VGA(1) it'll run at 60FPS.

Well, got that sorted out, but it didn't do anything for the tearing/missing graphics.
