Well, you can also patch the image with Pal Patcher or Adrenalin Patcher (I recommend the first one) and make it boot in 60Hz whatever the bios region is.

![]() A few PAL games give you a choice between 50Hz and 60Hz even on a NTSC console or a emulator trying to play a PAL game with a NTSC bios. One such game is the PAL Soul Calibur on a NTSC console. With nullDC beta 1.5 & now beta 1.6, I've noticed that NTSC games that required patching to NTSC with PAL Patcher (attached) so they were forced to run in NTSC on a PAL console actually run in PAL video mode even with an NTSC bios in nullDC so this is unusual behaviour from nullDC and one which did not exhibit itself in beta 1.

Beta 1 did not emulate the SPG settings, it just forced 60 fps all the time. Its not the bios that makes the difference but the flash file, actualy =p.With correct files, nullDC runs on NTSC mode properly (or used to, when i tried it).

drkIIRaziel are there any thoughts at all of implementing "true vmu" emulation, and not just a memory card (even in the distant future)? Would it slow things down a lot and doesn't worth it?

I have a quick question for drkIIRaziel too if you don't mind: Do you plan in the nearest future to add 'sync' into chankast's AICA, or upgrade nullAICA so it won't clicks, cracks etc. or plays in loops or incorrect some fragments (eg. some fmv's) in severals games ? Because I don't know if I should play some games I really want to play, but the sound is bad, or wait few weeks and it will be fixed. ![]() Second little question: Why 'hardware mixing' in nullAICA is producing worse quality then without this option ? The logic says that is should be oposite... |

HArdware mixing is problematic on directsound, dont ask me why .Microsoft plans to drop it totaly (they did so on x64 oses and on all Vista vers). The way chanka aica works makes it harder to limit the speed.Thats why its not implemented. It may be sometime, duno ... |

I tried to configure my controller though it, but it didn't accept any commands from it. So I wen back to Joy2Key. Edit: Strange got it to work. Just red a couple of pages back how to make the joystick plugin work... And with it foxed the emulator booted the games... WTF? Anyhow I just played Soul Calibur for a few minutes but I see lots of improvements, terrains and menus. Great job guys, thanx ![]() Esc doesn't work for exiting the Emu, gotta use Alt+F4 now Last edited by zeox; November 24th, 2007 at 01:09.. |

Emulator is REALLY coming along beautifully! Record of Lodoss war is still unplayable (Using DynaRec, it's 100% all the time - until a fight, where if you kill an enemy, the screen freezes. Disabling DynaRec fixes that, but the game runs around 12fps) Shenmue works perfectly, but has a few sound issues using ElsemiAICA. It's full speed with no graphical glitches (except the noted ones from the Diary) using these settings; Textures: Versioned. Sort: Triangle. Modifier: Normal Dead or Alive 2 is.. hmm. Still not 100% and has some weird slowdown glitches at the start/end of each fight. Tech Romancer is flawless. Sound, graphics, speed. Zombie Revenge is flawless. Sound, graphics, speed. Resident Evil 3 has massive graphical glitches, rendering it unplayable. Perfect speed and sound though. Soul Calibur is flawless. Sound, graphics, speed. D2 is nigh-flawless. Graphics and speed are perfect, sound is scratchy ... no buffer size changing fixes it. ChankastAICA has perfect sound, but with no sync it runs too fast. I'm about to test Jet Grind Radio. I love the gamepad support, so far it's working flawlessly. The Sync options for Elsemi/nullAICA plugins are not only wonderful, but also essential (playing Soul Calibur @ 160fps is less than fun when you use the ChankastAICA) and I love the nice touch you've done with the BIOS, having the emulator read the BIOS to set the speed/region. It's good because I have my own UK dumped BIOS, but launching NTSC games changes the system over. Very well done! -=System Specs=- AMD DualCore Opteron 165 @ 3Ghz Gainward 8800GT-512 @ 700/1700/1950 2GB GSkill PC4400. -=Edit=- Ok, Jet Grind Radio is soooooo close to being perfect. Full speed, perfect sound -- but a few graphical glitches (mainly shadows and missing/deforming textures) That was with NullPVR, I'll try Chankast's now. Here's the NullPVR plugin. ![]() The same scene with ChankastPVR. Notice the missing shadows? Well that's preferable to the rest - because with the shadows there, the screen and textures deform badly.

For me the opening movie is all screwy. Just the initial flyover has all kinds of glitches. It actually got alot worse since 1.0. There are also problems with the shadowing, though I don't know if there's a setting to correct it. Either I get shadows with missing pieces, or huge overblown shadows. NullDC came in really, really handy a couple of weeks ago when I was stuck at the airport for six hours. Laptop, gamepad, and the only power plug in John Wayne airport and I was good to go, though I forgot just how rough Soul Calibur was on my hands.

Well the game is fine, graphical content and all -- it just suffers from HORRENDOUS hitching at the start/end of the fight. Seems a few others on here are having the same issue with various other games. Not sure of a remedy yet >_< I'll have a play around with it tonight, see if I can fix it. Running off a CDI image on a SATA2 HDD, so it's most definitely not a loading issue. Weird. Other than the initial hitching, the game is flawless, running at 30/60 (NTSC rip) As far as Soul Calibur, it's perfect. I've seen no issues whatsoever, not with the opening movie, not with the game or graphics or speed. Damn man, sorry to hear about your issues :-\ -=Edit=- Ok. Wow. What the hell? Hmm. Ok. I just reloaded DoA2 and tried it again. Flawless! NO stuttering or hitching at the start/end of the fight! That's just plain, outright, weird!
