Shenmue 2 audio issues
using :
- nullpvr - Image Reader - nullAICA I get very annoying garbled/broken up audio glitches and white noise as if I was tuning a radio. This happen precisely when I arrive at the AM2 logo, right after the SEGA logo (and from that point on, it doesn't disappear anymore further into the game). Same problem with ChankaAICA, except that the latter doesnt' have audio sync so the framerate is x2 ![]() It's a shame because everything else is downright amazing, crisp textures and nice framerate, wow.... Brillant work ! P.S : I sometimes manage to avoid the problem by being fast enough on my joystick button thus skipping the AM2 logo which normally marks the beginning of audio garbage. But I haven't been that successful lately with that technique

Ok then I guess you're working on it. Good news
![]() *edit* I thought the fact of skipping the AM2 logo was placebo but I'am afraid I was right, I've just successfully skipped it and the audio is uber clean throughout the intro (you know the eagle in the valley...) and as soon as the 'Y' (signature of the creator of the game -forgot his name-) logo appears.. BOOM crackles again :/ Last edited by Boulotaur2024; April 9th, 2007 at 17:45. |

I don't think it has CDDA, it's a huge game fitting on 4GDroms and the music doesn't sound good enough to be true audio. Also, there's too much variety in it, and whenever I put them in a CD player or DVD drive it doesn't pick up CDA

I can confirm that the audio problem starts right at the AM2 logo, maybe that's the point where audio is initialized or the beginning of a track, I don't know...
I can do with it though, I just need to press that START button fast enough so as to skip the screen. But don't worry too much with that, it could as well be related to the 'quality' of my rip. I haven't seen Shenmue 2 in the screenshots thread so I dunno if some other people have had the same audio issue. |

Yeah shame on me
Btw it's totally great to see Shenmue with such a high resolution and that quality of anti-aliasing. Feels a bit like playing a kind of unreleased "Shenmue HD" ![]() I'm really happy because I'd always wanted to play the sequel of Shenmue, but at the time it was released I had sold my DC, and Chankast was awfully slow when I tried it. GOOD JOB GUYS, keep it up !!! |

How is the shimmering when playing it emulated? I play it on VGA but to be honest I still cannot decide what looks better: VGA or RGB scart on a nice tv, cause the latter gives some extra AA, or so to say.
VGA learns that the DC's AA is far from perfect

But anyways it's the game that counts, not the graphics. |
