Which tool should i use to make a backup?

As it seems that nullDC doesn't read my games from the drive i gotta make backups and i usually use PowerISO for that purpose but it seems that nullDC only supports .cdi .nrg .gdi and .mds
So which free backup tool can i use to produce one of these imagetypes? (the important thing about this sentence is that it's gotta be free)

Btw. this is also a little suggestion for a wider support of imagetypes.

nullDC supports any type of image you can mount, there are various different pieces of software you can use to create a virtual drive and mount disc images to these. If you would like to create your own backup (recommended), you will need a serial adapter or broadband/lan adapter (recommended). The process if fairly straightforward, and there are many guides/tutorials on how to do so. All of the tools are released freely, so you shouldn't have any trouble there. Try searching google or a dc emulation/homebrew site like dcemu.co.uk.

A friend backed my games up for me and i burned them to a normal cd he told me this way round the discs can be read (because the original dreamcast discs cannot be read afaik). So i actually only need a tool to make one of the needed imagetypes to load them up.

There is a very dodgey way to use a cd drive to read GD-roms but it involves taking the drive apart. Now if that doesn't start rining alarm bells saying "get the lan/bb adaptor i dunno what does!)

As i mentioned my drive can read the discs because they were already burned once.

I got that, just thought id chip in with the info.

Why not just run them from the cd - or is that more buggy at the moment?

If you want to rip them to iso's BwgBurn CD/DVD Burning Software
Give that a go its just a quick search on the old sourceforge, hope it helps.

I haven't found any option to set my CD Drive Letter or something. That's why i assume i can only run images. Thanks for the tool i'll check it out.

Hmmm.. i tried BwgBurn but either i am to dumb for it or it can't make images of cds.
