nullPVR question about hardware requirements

Does the nullPVR need a vertex shader to run. Im using a Geforce 4 MX 440 so im not sure i have them.

The chankast pluggin runs fine for me but i cannot get the NullPVR to boot at all.

Cheers.

Pc specs=
Amd Athlon XP 2000+
512Mb DDr Ram
Geforce 4 MX440 64mb
Creative Sound Card (Bog standard crappy thing)

I know my pc is over the hill, but im getting a laptop real soon to take to uni, butI enjoy emulation for the sake of it so im not overly bothered about it being "lolz0rs fu11 sp33d w4r3z t1m3"

You should note in the readme that its dependant on shaders imo.

There are a lot of features that need to be fixed/changed and properly documented. This release is a beta, we decided rather than make everyone wait until we have time to fix these things, we would release a beta version for public testing. This emulator is released as-is, support is limited, we have not had the time to focus our attention on all things needed for a full featured release. Hopefully soon we will have more time to focus on things like PowerVR emulation.

Nice to see your still in the scene ZeZu! I remember when you rolled in back in the day to icarus- good times!

Shame Icarus never saw a public beta or anything like this it probably would run at a good 20/30 fps on today's machines.

Anyhoo cheers for clearing this up guys looking forward to the next release, coz "darn it - its been a while!"

To have people asking what's pixel shaders? Or to have people using those crappy Intel cards with poor pixel shader support *****ing because nullDC does not work for them? No thanks.

Does a better videocard help speed ? I use Radeon 8500 which has pixel shader 1.4 , if i get a 2.0 or 3.0 will it help the cpu more and be faster ? Also would Nvidia perform better than Ati ?

Generaly memory speed/cpu speed are the limiting factors.
