Open "nulldc.cfg" with a text editor, find the line "Fullscreen.Refresh_Rate=60", change 60 to 75, 85, whatever. Don't touch anything else (unless you know what you're doing), save and exit.

Is there a way to get fullscreen with the Chankast video plugin without it displaying FPS? If I change the option in the nullDC.cfg, I get fullscreen, but I can't figure out how to get rid of the FPS display (it's annoying to have it in the middle of the screen and it's almost always at 100% anyway).

Won't forcing a higher refresh rate make some games run too fast though?

Uncheck Show Fps in the PowerVR menu.

Also, is there really a use to anything higher than 60 Hz? I thought no game had beyond 60 frames per second anyway.

On crt displays higher refresh rate = better image (less flicker) .On tft's it means less ghosting =)

Bad idea regardless. The games were programmed for 60hz. Using a higher rate simply means the emulator has to fill in duplicate frames, which causes the motion to be less "fluid". More noticeable on 2D games however. Less noticeable on games which don't maintain a completely solid 60fps anyway.

The best option would be to run the games in a low enough resolution to which your nVidia card (assuming you have one) and monitor allow you to enable "Double Scan Mode". This elimates flicker, without using a frequency which isn't visibly in sync with the game.

Actualy you can force vsync when using higher refresh rates -- it won't affect the emulation speed (When nullAICA is used to limit the speeds).

I didn't imply that the emulator would perform worse. I am explaining that it is mathematically impossible for 75FPS VSYNC to appear as fluid as 60FPS VSYNC when the game is programmed at 60FPS.

Well... triple buffering can make up for that. On the nullDC case however 60Hz VSync would make things worse when using the sound synchronization option to limit speed.
