Command line options?

Are there any command lines that could be used in conjunction with a frontend to load games with specific options, i.e. pvr plugin or dynarec on/off and stuff?

if the image is not "bootable" will it still load?

There are a few command line options , however they are for testing only.Next beta(s) will have support for command line properly .

If it has an ip.bin file where it's supposed to then it will (using HLE boot).

are there any hotkeys then for features?

any plan on porting the chankast input plugins for those of us that need a joystick?

is seems to me that many of the problems the nulldc has chankast also suffers from. did this team have help from those guys or is it just the logical progression with this system?

Well... There is F8 for screen shots. nullPVR also uses F1, F2, F3 and F4 to disable some rendering.

AFAIK, there is no plan to port input plugins from Chankast but joypad support will be added sometime.

In which "problems" are you referring to? It's common for emulators to share some same problems, especially if these problems have to do with errors in the documentation of the emulated hardware parts.

well... ikaruga lvl2 bullets missing, shadows in various games, soul calibur background stuff.

joy2key doesn't work very well for games that require simultanious button presses like rival schools 2 does for team moves.

is there a ntsc/vga selector for nulldc?

i dn't think i'm able to set the resolution for the chankast pvr plugin nor am i able to gor full screen with it.

one more...

is the team going to be taking a break or going right back to coding? and if taking a break then for how long?

if you need beta testers i have tons of images to test with. i hate to say it but i might even pay for the privledge.

Well... The bullets on Ikaruga are not exactly "missing". They are there but you can't see them because they are covered by everything else (pressing F1 on this specific spot will make the bullets appear but will make the game unplayable). Shadows on various games don't appear either because they are covered by the ground or because of missing emulated effects (drk explains more about this in this thread).

Some backgrounds on Soul Calibur got messed some time ago during the testing period and fixing them before the release was unfortunately not possible. There were many things to do and so little time so...

You can use another program instead of joy2key. There's one in this post.

There's not an NTSC/VGA selector for nullDC yet.

Fullscreen and resolution change for the Chankast PVR plugin are not implemented in the GUI yet but it's possible to enable them from the "nulldc.cfg" file. If you use the image reader gdrom plugin you must select and use a default image before running the game or switching to fullscreen will not work correctly. Beware, this feauture in not supported and might lead to problems!

you have to admit that those bugs are very similiar to chankast.

i'll give that other key emulator a try but i still dont think that you can emulate more that 1 button being pressed at a time as that is a "feature" of keyboards.

i don't understand that last paragraph... what is a "default" image?
can i use custom resolution for chankast pvr like i do for nulldc pvr. i use 1776x1000 on my 65" TV in high def, and it looks fantastic.. gj btw

It's common for some issues to be similar on both emulators. There are some things that none of them can do right.
Regarding graphics for example, there are cases where both emulators have the same problem (Ikaruga, F355), cases that both emulators have a problem but it's different (Soul Calibur, Chaos Field) and cases that only one of them has a problem (Sonic Adventure 1, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2).
I still cannot understand why you keep mentioning the "similar" errors.

Image reader has an option to select and use a "default" image file (an iso of a game) all the time without the need to select an image every time you run the emulator.

forgive my presumption but that other key emulator does indeed allow for simultanious pressed keys.

anything i can do to keep the sound from messing up after 2-4 minutes or so of play? it sounds stuttery after a few minutes of gameplay. it'll start perfectly but inevitabley go downhill. i've tried increasing buffers but that slows the system down a bit at 4096. right now i'm trying 2048 and the frame rates remane playable.

Some stuttering is common. Constant stuttering occurs if the speed drops below normal. If the game does not run at its full speed (100%) the sound will keep stuttering because it will try to synchronize with the game. Some task in the background may use the CPU or the hard disk and result in stuttering.

Chankast AICA does not synchronize sound with the game and it can be a better choice on some cases.
