VERY nice job, and its very good to hear it matches Chankast for speed.
Just curious, but how's the compatability?

Why the people insist on making comparisons?. For who likes the comparisons, compare this!. Chankast is dead, NullDC is very alive.

Thanks drkIIRaziel by everything what you have done, do not become bored!, keep working and surprise the people soon!

(Sorry for my english)
greetings!
xZaRo.-

id say youll get 20-30fps on that rig.

i get just full speed (roughly 60fps) and as you can see in my sig below, its a lot more powerful than yours in emulation.

Yea I think its 20-30 fps because the authors are not focus on speed. More likely compatibility to play almost all the games . This emulator gone to have the most games that never work on the previous emulators that been released .

The actual advantage of NullDC over Chankast is that it is under development. So, expect improvements and stuff.

How does NullDC display games? Does it support hardware acceleration with higher resolutions and effects that weren't present on the original machine (like ePSXe does for PSX games), or instead is the rendering done in software like in MAME "for the sake of accuracy"?

U mean like Demul (which resolution is stuck at 640x480), or the ZeroGS plugin for PCSX2? I think any 3D-console emulator that doesn't have hi-res support is pointless, you'd better off playing with the original machine.

Ah, but then again, emus have save-states, and you could probably fool your eyes by turning on AA to hide lo-res staircasing.

---

The JGR video is sweet, and it also sounds awesome. The Grandia vid also looks comparable to the PC version (which also has the weird shadow bug depending on what drivers you are using). Can't wait much longer.... @_@

Yeah , you are better off playing with the original machine indeed.

Do you mean that we won't be able to change the resolution in your emulator?

Lets clear up a few things ...
  • I'm not the only one working on nullDC, so its not mine
  • nullDC uses plugins , so if some functionality is missing someone else may implement it
  • My pvr plugin supports both resolution changes and AA setting
....

Thank you for your reply. There's another thing I'd like to know: what versions of Windows will nullDC work with? Will it be like Chankast was (2K/XP-only), or will it also work on Windows 98 like Icarus was supposed to do?

So you sex0rd him in exchange for becoming part of the beta team? Interesting Did you grope his nads, Mire?

@ Devil Master: Most likely if you have a pc with Win 98, it won't be fast enough running the emu in the first place. But of course that doesn't really answer your question

I tested on XP and Vista. It works, tho the sound on Vista doesn't sound as good as in XP. I believe it works well on 2K.

I actually have 2 computers: one with Windows XP and one with Windows 98.
I asked that because with the last nVidia stereo drivers for Windows 98 you can run ePSXe in stereoscopy, while you can't do that with Windows XP. I also know that stereoscopy in Windows XP doesn't work with Chankast nor with Demul, so I assume that it won't work with nullDC either. But if nullDC works with Windows 98, I might have a chance to play Dreamcast games in stereoscopy.

Never tested on 98 , most likely it won't work.I don't know about NT 5.0 (2k) , it works on NT 5.1(XP) & 5.2(x64/2003)
