Because he's interested in learning from the source codes and possibily enhancing on them

Not even! I simply requested that when the authors are done with project that the work they have already done doesn't simply slide into the abyss like chankast and ultrahle. I neither need nor desire the source code.

Also I distintley remember writing
Its cool if you keep it closed source. Thats your right.

because that question is relevant to most programmers. I like open source, and if I ever work on an emulator in the future it will be open source, I'm not even that advanced a programmer but open source sounds appealing to me, you are being ignorant if you think asking such questions about such projects is silly.

Hope it will have a better iso support than Chankast as I like to store the games on HDD instead. Chankast required you to have an older version of Daemon tools, wish it could simply load the isos directly instead.

Congrats to the progress btw.

The majority of the games don't need the older version.

I know that but I don't like to get quoted cuz of being too lazy to write a few extra words . However it shouldn't be too hard to make it launch iso files directly but this is a minor concern anyways, compability and speed are far more important.

You could rip them with alcohol 120% I did with SC and it worked fine in Chankast. It also works fine with daemons latest version, or other emulator.

Even More Progress

For the sake of the emulation and generally the homebrew scene here's a "special" shot. Yes that's the first version that actually runs it.

Nice! I hope to run homebrew games/emulators on nullDC. Because I want to test it before burn a cd and run on the console

I sense this emulator has a VERY bright future judged by the version number and screenshots I've seen so far.

thx for keeping us informed and great job.

Good job, but running an emulator in an emulator is not best idea for performance.

Also I wonder if NullDC supports homebrew stuffs Chankast didn't, like BIOS font or CD fs from KOS. I tried to ask one of the author but he looks busy and I can't get technical info I need.

I wish I could develop my homebrew projects and test them in real time, I wouldn't like having to change many things to make them compatible with the emu later. Chankast had troubles with the homebrew scene because of its compatibility, I hope NullDC's devs won't do the same error, so far it's encouraging.

I would love to see Linux support for this emulator. Honestly, it's Chankast's biggest failing (well, that and being in a state of dependency hell) and I'll definitely use this if we see a Linux version.

I also agree that proper iso support is a necessity.

I'm curious if nullDC is a new project started from scratch or partially contains icarus in it?

im not 100% sure of my answer but I do beleive it has been created from scratch. Although since ZeZu has worked in the past on Icarus, I wouldnt be surprised if he writes some parts of NullDC like Icarus was.

The reason I ask is due to ZeZu's hesitation of releasing icarus.
Maybe he felt it shouldn't be released unfinished and went on to continue with nullDC. Just a thought.

Hey I got an idea, you can actually ask the authors nicely for the source code or actually join the team. Ya know more people means faster and a better quality work.

BTW, Nice job!
