And we already cleared the fact that Vista 64 doesnt have any problems with nullDC naomi input, only 32 bit versions, in most of the cases the Home Premium ones.
Luckily i had a spare drive in my room and ive installed Xp sp3, no problems. Vista is cool but damn, performance wise.....it makes the pc too much slower, at least compared to the newer Sp3 of xp.

Thanks this seemed it worked the first time but then i disabled the console screen in the ini and it stopped working in my windows vista. Tried also to repaste your config in and it still doesn t want to work now... There definitely is a bug with vista a nulldc naomi version. This was on vista 64 ultimate edition also... possible a registry issue not allowing keyboard input?

Definitely some conflict then. I tried both with and without the console active and had no troubles each time.

I don't use registry on nullDC at all, everything is stored on the config file.It is some compatibility problem on vista and keyboard input on non-gui threads.

Actually the input problem is also on XP but only with one game - SFZ3U (NullDC 1.03 Naomi).

thanks for the release!

..has the change disc function been tested on more games? because on the previous version it wasn't working working for any of the followings: Shenmue 1 and 2 and D2... fortunately you don't really need it for Shenmue cos you can save at the end of the cd but in D2 you need it

I loaded up the new version of the emulator after I updated my Direct X and it starts up and runs just like the old one did, except that it runs TOO FAST. Like way too fast. I tested Ikaruga so far and it runs so fast I can't even play it.

With the old version of NullDC it ran at the correct speed. I have gotten a new CPU since I ran the old version though. I used to have a Pentium Dual Core 1.6ghz but now I have a Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz. My video card is a GeForce 7300. I have 2GB of RAM.

Anyone having similar problems with the new release or know of a fix?

I decided to download every Usenet post of Dreamcast games. One of them had a link about the new emulator version. Two things I can tell you having tested TONs of games...

1. A lot of games no longer boot

2. Some games, racing in particular look much better, but the menus are not as readable with all the filters. However, they look awesome!

To test whether a game runs, I still use the old sequence of Null DC 100b1_6, then Chankast, THEN NullDC 1.0.3...

Also, some of these Japanese games are the weirdest fricking things I have ever seen, lol. I don't know if I'm just watching Anime or supposed to push buttons or what, lol.

Did you try Settings/Underclock FPU? And make sure Sync Audio is checked. I have 2-in-1 of Border Down and Ikagura that runs nice and slow for me.

Also you can probably find a program that slows your PC down as you play games that run too fast. How does Draconis run? It is still slow on my lap, I have similar specs but it's onboard graphics but it runs. Draconis looks awesome in the new emu. Like an XBox game. But very few games have ran but the ones that do (DOA2) are well worth seeing.

Well I am not sure what made it happened but when I installed the new version of NullDC I just extracted over the same directory where the previous version was. When I tried extracting it to a brand new directory the games seem to run at normal speed. Odd. Maybe it was using the old config file and it isn't compatible somehow. But literally when I had first tried running the new NullDC it said it was running at like 500% speed.

Is there an ETA on the gamepad plugin? ;_; I am surprised at how much better the new nullDC runs on my system compared to the old version (practically get full speed in 60fps games now), but the lack of gamepad support pretty much destroys my ability to play any of these games.

Not to sound offensive, but who the hell releases a game console emulator without gamepad support? It's just a big pet peeve of mine to say, find a side scrolling platformer on the PC that doesn't support gamepads, and to have an emulator do it is really frustrating.

It's okay for games that use the d-pad, but for games that use analog sticks... not even joy2key cuts the mustard.

Calm down young one, and btw you do sound offensive. As the author said, this version wasn't completely ready for release, and he released it only due to popular demand earlier. He also said that he will implement some fixes soon enough.

That's cool. I'm just sort of impatient because my Dreamcast is on its last legs and with nullDC getting up to near full speed for me, I see this as my way to play a lot of the games I haven't played for a few years. Sonic Adventure 2, Jet Set Radio, Shenmue...

You could also just buy another Dreamcast. You can find used ones on Amazon or Ebay or even Craigslist.

I could, but when faced with spending more money on another Dreamcast that will eventually also kick the bucket (most of them seem to)... or emulating the Dreamcast forever...

Well, you can see why I am excited.
