Will the 3D plugin still support stereoscopy?
Or should I say: will the drkPVR plugin (with stereoscopy support) become the standard plugin, or will the new version of the emulator come with a nullPVR plugin that renders things "the old way", with an optional drkPVR download?

I second that.
drkpvr IS nullPVR.Its just renamed for releases ;p.Having said that, it shoudnt be too hard to keep stereoscopy working.

more. You can get a very good cpu for < $80, thats barely midle-end
if someone were to upgrade an old cpu than he will find out it wont be compatible with his mobo most likely
and if he upgrade the mobo too, he need to change the graphic card and the RAM to a PCI-e and DDRII ones.
quite a full system upgrade

Wow. This is one heck of an emulator. I never owned a Dreamcast, and finding working ones around here has been a bit pointless. Great job on this thing. The only thing I could hope for is support for cheats.

Ooh! Cheats sound like some fun!

Is it just me, or is anyone else fascinated by video game cheats? (and no, not just to "finish" the game)

Something about the thought of doing things in a game you're normally not supposed to do is just cool :P Lol.

I own two laptops, by two different companies, and both have upgradable CPUs. They also have upgradable video cards, one of which I just upgraded recently. When I bought them I made sure to choose models with this flexibility. I killed five hours at John Wayne Airport in southern Cali playing Dreamcast games on my laptop.

The notes about the next release fill in the only gaps I could think of, really. I dunno.. Maybe an X64 version for kicks?

Filter or Shader support would be great. (especially for 2d games)

But compatibility and improvements of the sound plugin should come first.

And just relax drkIIRaziel, we are patient

if the filtering were done at driver level then it wouldn't matter if the company disabled them on the dreamcast or not. true?

To spice up the thread abit :

It is possible to port nullDC over to wii/ps3 (both are very similar) as long as there is 3d acceleration avaiable (and i somehow get myhands on the hardware/software).

NOTE : it is NOT possible to port it to psp/nds/gc/ps2/ect so dont ask about it.
