Weird problem!

Hi! I'm using 1.6 beta, and I've been playing a lot

But today I had a very strange problem, 2 in fact:

1) I was playing Shenmue 2 at 1200x1024, I had to stop and then, for no reason really, the monitor didn't recognize the refresh rate. I found out that in fact, the drivers of the monitor just vanished and now it was a common "plug and play". Tried to reinstall drivers, and it wouldn't let me. So I just turned it off and when I started all over, my monitor was the same old Samsung AND the emu got to work again. (This may not be emu related, but if anyone knows what could it be...)

2) I didn't have enough room in mem1, so I copied game files to another one, so that I had enough space for Shenmue 2.
Everything went well, but when I restarted NullDC, everytime I start a game, it asks me over and over to put the day and time, and obviously in english (I'm argentinian so my default has always been Spanish), and apparently the DC's sound default is Monoaural...
This is what appears

Can any one tell me how to solve any of these?
Thanks in advance!

I didn't experience the 1st problem you had, but i did get the 2nd one (The Clock & Sound Problem). I got that problem after playing Shenmue (1) on the 2nd Disc. When this happens, the Clock of the dreamcast bios is reset and the sound is changed to mono for no known reason.

NVM, the solution to the 2nd problem is quite easy. Just google and type "Dreamcast bios", there you will be able to download an NTSC version of the Dreamcast bios.

Extract the files onto the null dc >> data folder (where the dreamcast bios is placed) Just Overwrite the existing bios files, and when you start the game later the problem will be gone/fixed.

I NEVER did show a bios link, i just told him HOW to find it. Don't get me wrong.

BTW, the other solution by NamesSolidSnake is easier*

Read the rules. No BIOS downloads.

The REAL solution to problem 2 is to delete the only file that isn't the BIOS in the data folder that is inside nullDC's directory.

And sorry, I don't know what's up with problem 1.

Edit: Well, I guess it's okay then as you didn't show a link.

Well thank you guys, but none of em worked

IMO it's not that necessary to get the NTSC (you mean JAP or USA?), since the translated version of Shenmue 2 is eupean only; and even booting the eur bios, I keep having this problem...

None of them worked? I always delete that file in the data folder when the date and time thing happens to me.

And NTSC is the english version.

NTSC is the japanese version as well.

Finally I got rid of the problem... I thought that erasing all and reinstalling (installing?) the emu would solve the problem but it didn't, so I used REGEDIT to see all the strings possible related to nulldc, and I erased the one that refered to dc_flash.bini (YEAH, BINI!... I had so many bios/flash looking for the orange logo, that I used to have them renamed JUST IN CASE -I don't know how to use Hexeditor-)
The PROs: Works fine again, AND with the orange logo (yippie!)
The CONs: When I erased the emu folder... I ERASED ALL MY SAVES! F@KKKK!
The PROs -remix-: VMU Backup saved the day

It's a shame that I had to restart Shenmue 2 afterall, but I advanced in 2 hours what took me about 4 in the last playing.

NamesSolidSnake, I ASSURE you that PAL is only european (well, in this case at least... Brazil is PAL N and suppossedly in Argentina we have PAL M, but or signal is clearly NTSC.
Google it if you don't trust me hehe

PS:I'm getting used to Ryo's crazy head without the "TRIAGLES" option. With it, I had very few glitches (less than it's prequel, I might say)... but it's SLUGISH when the screen is crowded; without it, I get around 58fps all the time, and it's not THAT bad either :P

Here are 2 questions: These are my computer specs:

Core2Duo E4500 @ 2.2Ghz
Intel board (I wish it were an ASUS, just to overclock it)
2Gb ram Kingston
Sound Blaster Audigy2 SE
The ultra ****ty Intel 82945G eating 256mb ram

1) I'm considering to buy a GeForce xfx 8600GT XXX with Zelman cooler (Zelman... not quite sure if this is the name...). Would I be able to run full speed the Shenmues with Triangle option activated?

2) I didn't understand what's the Hardware Mixing (Aica) for. It sounds horrible with it!, any technique or suggestion to getting it to work well?

That's it, won't bother you anymore... at least in this thread :P

Isn't PAL Japan AND European?

Question 1: Using the Triangle option will always be slower than the other options. Don't know if getting a new GPU will actually make it faster, but it will have more support for the graphics options, so it may work better.

Question 2: If you mean the sound is kinda clicky or it's cracking, that can be fixed by changing the buffer size, which is located in Options>Aica>Sound buffer (or something similar)

Just so you know, DrkRaz and PsyMan generally don't help you if they think you not doing things legit. So you can bend the rules all you want, but next time you need help you probably wont get it from them.

So if your going to give advise like that, keep it in the PMs.
