Anyways, did you remember to select "Save Options" after you changed your save type? If that doesn't work then try downloading version 2.6 off no$gba homepage and check to see if it works or not. |

*blink* Maybe I'm just being a n00b, which is probable. To my knowledge, I have the latest free version of No$GBA, and I've been getting those stupid "Turn of DS and reinsert" messages whenever I reach a save point in certain games. Which, I -think- is what this forum is helping fix right? I've tried a bunch of stuff. I played around with an arm7 injector thinger, and also tried changing the save-type to match the one listed in the first post. I still get the messages. Am I missing something completely obvious? X_X

*embarrassed grin* I did some more looking about yesterday after I posted, and sure enough, you're right. I hadn't done that. So.. I tried it, and so far so good, it worked! =DD Course, seems like every time I get something to work right, something else gets messed up. Ah, the price of emulators, free, but aggravating. Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you. Between here, the No$GBA website, and another -amazing- site that I found where you don't have to pay to resister, don't have to pay to download, the (many many) roms are -actually- in English, and the people running it are very kind. =D How rare! =O
Anyway, again! Thank you! =3 I'm off to play. Hopefully. If the save game works, and didn't corrupt. This'll be my first time loading it since saving, so... if it works, I'll be happily gaming for hours. If not, I'm sure to be back whining about something. =D |

>_< I'm not a "bro". But even so. I -did- buy a DS. I -did- buy games, you know. Bought and paid for. Roms were made to be backups, hai? Well, if your dog ate your legally bought ****...you'd probably find ways to get your fix too, no?
I download and play the games that I bought for my DS, and no longer can. When I get more money, I'll buy buying a new one and games to match. I'm not happy about it, but them's the breaks. Until I can -get- a new one, I don't see how it's illegal for me to be temporarily replacing the games that I've already -paid- for. Isn't that what roms are supposed to be?? *curious* Anyhow, unfortunately, dispite the fact that it was reading and "saving", now, it can't find the save. *sigh, grumble* It's right there, in the file. Don't know why it can't read it. *grumble grumble* |

*blink* Well, it seems kind of silly to have an emulator then, much less an emulator forum, if you can't very well do anything with it. Unless of course you mean to say that people put their own DS files onto a disk for safekeeping/playing. sure. but why an emulator then? So they can play them on a computer. But why? Why do that with such an imperfect emulator? Why deal with crashes, bugs, games that don't save, saves that don't work, emulators that run too slow, or too fast, or whatnot? Why deal with that if you have a perfectly usable and capable DS right there? Seems silly to me. You can't even make the screen larger on an emulator. Enh, there's a lot I don't understand about this stuff, I guess. Ah well.

It's best to not mention how you got your games. We pretty much assume the user has dumped their games from their real game cartridge, but if you got the games through others then you will not get our support.
Anyways, I think you didn't set the correct save type. You should try reading this thread on how to get the correct save type.

That's not true. For example, you could use cheat codes on the emu and transport the save to your DS if you don't have a cheat device. Also, you can make the screen larger with MyZoom.
Alright, let's get back on topic. |

The ability to cheat.... You won't have to charge your desktop anytime soon. The ability to quickely and easily take screenshots or record gameplay videos if the PC is strong enough.

Alright. Alright. X_X I get it, I get it. No need to get ganged on. =P, was just stating an opinion. But, right. Moving on. If I could have dumped them from my real cartrige, I would have.
In any case, I don't think so. I was able to play the game, and when I tried to save, it did. I got a "Saving....Saved!" message. The only issue was when I closed out the game, and then tried to play it again later. It says it couldn't find any saves. x-x I looked in the Battery Folder, and there was -a- save from the right game there, but it was pretty tiny. I'm not sure if the problem is that the game isn't actually saving despite choosing the right save and -saying- it's saving, or if for some reason it just isn't -finding- the save. x_o And, yes, yes. I know. Good intentions are good enough. Gah. I'll probably just take it all off my computer, and save myself the trouble. Getting a new one, getting new games, and not having to deal with anything other than the actual thing, might be (while annoyingly expensive) easier. >_< Last edited by LadyKitsu; 5 Days Ago at 17:15. There are some save type you can use for saving, but the file might be corrupted if it is not the correct save type. If the save type is correct then try changing the file name of your game without any special characters, and change the save file name to match your game name.

Well considering you did not think it would help to provide us with the game name you will have to be previded to with some generic answers.
So either your savetype was incorrect. (some games do with with an incorrect savetype...some even seem to be able to save...but it's still wrong). Or after you saved the emu either crashed or randomly closed without you having since either loaded another game or reloaded this game so the save was never propperly written to the harddrive (which is only done on exit or reloading of a game). Or you never saved the emu options and when you started the game the next time it loaded on an incorrect savetype which either did not find the original save or saw it as corrupt and cleared it.

Alright, thank you both very much. I am sorry too. I thought I read somewhere that roms were meant as back-ups of games you have bought. I did buy them, so I thought it was okay to have copies. x-x It was my misunderstanding. But thank you both for the help.
