Smile What do you think should be featured in NO$gba version...

HI people, lets help Martin, in giving a few tips and encourage him too..
My opinion would be...

1.) Resizable screen, just like Visual Boy Advance, which has the option of:
x2 screen, x4screen, Full screen.etc.

2.) Saving and loading states is possible.

3.) Capturing a video of the game-play.

4.) More options in increasing frame skip, and frame skip should be smooth, even when fast, the screen should not stutter, you know what I mean... hopefully.

5.) The sound is super clear.

6.) Wi-fi connection is excellent.

7.) The ability to load in gameboy cartrtidges into the No$gba emulator.

8.) To load the cheat list from a specific folder or any folder!

This... would be the ultimate emulator!

Martin, you can do it, we NDS gamers are all with you!, by the way I know a little bit of Delphi, do you think it would be helpfull?

Everyone, please do share your ideas on developing the grand emulator: NO$gba v??

Thanx.

It would be nice if the save type was chosen automaticly. Also, and internet game room would be nice. However I don't want to put pressure on Martin and a game room would be very expensive and difficult to maintain, so I don't think he is going to take this emulator that far.

Martin will do everything when he thinks the time is right i think. Sure, Working Wi-fi and flawless sound would be cool, but this thread will probably collaps into a "Wish a Bugfix thread" without anything good coming out of it.

DUDE, I doubt it! It just might work, so chill, it might just evolve the emulator by far.

These people obviously don't know how Martin works.
Go back and see his previous emus and figure out yourself what will be on the emu and what will not.

No, it would be the ultimate BROKEN emulator. What's the value of all these features being included if there is no compatibility for any other games?

Absolutely none, so pray that he makes almost all the games become compatible before you bring out your wish list.

How do you help an already busy person demanding more work?

Do you know Martin codes it primarily for developers paying for the debug and profile versions, do you? Oh, and Delphi won't be helpful at all, he uses assembly :P

Someone should close this thread, it's one of these feature request threads again...
Hope someone will finally understand, why this kind of posts aren't really liked.
Cleverbee, a little advice: best thing would be to read the post of shashClp carefully, before doing such things again.

Here's how to help Martin and THIS would actually be welcome too

Need help from crazy programmer!
Some of the commercial users are pestering me to add more source level support, especially displaying variables, local variables, and structures in no$gba. The problem is that the specifications for the debug information format are my personal nightmare. I am trying to avoid it, but I can gaze at those "specs" for hours, without even getting an idea what it is all about, and where to start interpreting the data. Alltogether, I'd say that one must totally ****ed up in mind to understand that documents. That's you? Great! If you'd dare to have a look at it, you can find the specs at Wotsit.org (search for ELF), or maybe you may find better and less confusing specs/sources/tutorials elsewhere. ELF is an executable format, pretty overcomplicated for simple ROM-images, but I meanwhile figured out it works. However, the debug information is in DWARF2 format, stored in several sections of the ELF file, and I've no idea how it works, except for the "source line numbers" part, and I needed all of my discipline to read and understand that part. Any help, samples, instructions, tutorials, and less confusing info on that DWARF2 stuff would be very very welcome!

Supporting the no$gba project
If somebody would like to help me on the nocash project, here's a list of some things that'd be useful to me, for research purposes:
- gba "nes classic" series game cartridge (a real cartridge, not a rom-image)
- gba infra-red adapter - gba wifi adapter - gameboy micro (miniaturized gameboy advance console) - commodore amiga 500 home computer (for emulating it whenever having time to do that)
- bug reports (detailed info please: say what does not work in which situations)

1.) done

2.) interesting only for *playing*, and does not improve debugging capabilities or emulation accuracy.

3.) fraps or camstudio. done.
does not improve debugging capabilities or emulation accuracy.

4.) actually is pretty fast, given it can run even on slow computers
btw, the actual gba doesnt skip frames unless im mistaken

5.) interpolation and bass boosting are pc stuff only.

6.) if wifi is working at all, then its already pretty big news already. Last I checked, there was a surprising lack of documentation on the wireless linking capabilities and protocls used, scene-wide, unless its been more documented now

8.) visualboy advance ?

Martin, you can do it!
You mean that if this stuff is not implemented, it'd be since it *couldnt* be done?
There's not much interest in some stuffs, hence why the author even recommends unsatisfied people to just use other handheld emulators instead of voicing discontent

For flawless gameplay use your DS.

Seriously this is just a topic for people to whine about stuff.

Shut up and enjoy the emu as best you can, for everything else use your DS.

Enough of this pathetic complaining.

I just think a better control of skipped frames would be good.
But I agree that this thread doesn't make any diference.

Number 1 is done already ? No, I think he meant for no$gba developer to do those list, not by this person.

martin probably isnt interested into adding this kind of functionalty for 'freeloaders', so addons like that turn in handy as complementary feature additions.

No reply yet on the database thingy, still waiting

That's true but how do you know ? Did he say that ? I think not. He is interested into adding many other things to improvement and maybe those are not necessary and might be adding in the future, who know. For me, I do not care about it as long as he is into adding many other things such as improvement the speed, 3-D and 2-D as well as sound.

Increased compatibility in itself is much cooler than adding features that do not improve emulation accuracy. Apart from 'features 7 and 8, the rest is basically just what is expected from an emulator. Obviously, features 7 and 8 would not really be enough to suddenly make it more ultimate than it already is today
