In short, this is a feature that would have to be coded in by Martin himself.
yeah, i guess something like that, but well, since is the hardware that map the rom into the "ram" position, i guess that the BIOS or even something else just check those memory positions to check if the header is the rom or something like maybe, im not sure how martin allocate the DS memory space (if is a single linear buffer, but maybe it hardcoded something that will make that thing difficult...)

and actually im not meaning EXECUTE the GBA rom in NDS mode, but only make the emulator detect a GBA rom to those games that use this feature, but i guess that is the same thing xD

but thkz for the answer anyway =)

I think that it could easily be implemented by loading the ROM into a location in RAM then throwing a pointer to the start of the ROM as being 0x0800000 into his memory handling routine.
From what I've seen, the software looks at the header of the ROM to identify the game and then does it's magic. Well, the Pokemon games load data from the save data and stuff...

But yeah, in my un-professional opinion (Shash, please yell at me if I'm wrong ), all that I think would be needed is a pointer to the loaded-into-RAM GBA ROM being passed to whatever routine is handling memory. (It'd still probably be best to leave this to Martin, heh)

Mysoft, forgive my imprudence, but at least for me, the most important and revolutionary thing being included in Nds2xgl v3.0 is the 3X Zoom, so maybe you can release the new version when you have implemented 3X Zoom, I think we can wait a bit more about the profiler.

Thanks for your answer, Mysoft.

For your information, I have a 42" TV running Windows at 1280x720, and with the current version of Nds2xgs 2.5b at 1.5x, the No$gba window doesn't fill my TV screen.

Good luck and thanks again,
Maxx77.

for these days high resolutions like 1600x1200 are normal. just in case you didn't know... except if you still using 640x480 or 800x600 like some ppl here with old pcs do

I run at 1280x1024; it has replaced 1024x768 as a standard now, I think.

Yeah 1280x1024 is the way to go. And 1.5x is fine for that, whilst 2x almost fills it up from fills it up from top to bottom (based on DeSmuME). So yeah....you are requesting something you can never use.

Mostly as most LCDs out there are native 1280x1024. 1024x768 is still considerably majoritary (a share higher than 50% should be revealing enough, while 1280's is closer to 15-20%, with other resolutions' share pretty much anecdotic. 1024x768 is going away with CRT, but not as fast as it seems to gamers).

Back on topic, 3x would be nice especially with kreed and 25% opaque TV-like scanlines

I use 1650x1050 and 2x doesn't fill up much, i think 2.5x to 3x will be just right for those 22'' WS users.

I doubt it considering 1050 (the height) is only slightly bigger than 1024 (the height of my resolution) and it almost completely fills up the screen (from top to bottom I mean...not left to right).

well, martin isnt working in the emulator cuz it like to see our playing with it, it was working cuz it want it to be one awesome debbuger to help developers (and he is done one awesome job), so... that way he isnt working in "less importants things yet" and well, since almost everything in his emulator is software based a 2x will slowdown the emulator a good amount ^^", and i guess that he is right doing that way, since those "missing" features are easy to implement even by another program, (like nds2xgl doing), so i will not be surprised if it wait a long time to implement those things), and for sure... those who are using nds2xgl will continue using nds2xgl to get its features ^^"

2x is small? o.O

And here I thought it was pretty awesome that size for the DS screens, why don't they ask for a full screen view once for all? XD

Sorry for the sarcastic remark, is just that I do feel the 2x is perfect size to play the DS games, I know some of you must have bigger monitors as in 17" ones or bigger ones (Like using the TV for the computer or those 22" WS) But it looks really that small the 2x on those screens? personally I find it pretty fine but well my screen is just a 15" one.

Oh well, each people has own preferences I guess.
