Myzoom slows down the emu greatly.

I have a

AMD Althon Dual Core 4600+
3GB DDR ram
Geforce 7600GT

yet i notice a huge difference between running the emu without myzoom and without.

Sorry but NDS2xGL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Myzoom

Works fine for me too. Doesn't slow games down but thats because I have a fast CPU though. I prefer Nds2xgl because of its Scale2x and HQ2x graphics filters.

Only things Nds2xgl lacks for me is the ability to zoom the graphics to 3x or 4x, a full screen mode and the freedom to resize and move each screen of the DS so I can have a huge bottom screen and small top screen etc.

Sorry guys (and MySoft) but I greatly prefer myZoom. Absolutely no slowdown in emulation and it runs flawlessly on my comp (which is blitz-fast anyway)

I do love the filtering aspects of NDS2x ... but the fact that it crashes, constantly, and also locks my mouse cursor onto the touch-screen --- and NOTHING, except logging off, unlocks it .. and I'm sorry but that's pushed me RIGHT off this program. If the mouse issue is fixed in v3, I'll probably use it again. But for now I'm sticking to myZoom.

Ditto.

None of the things you mentioned happen to me.

Must be your PC.

Bully for you

My PC is fine, but thank you for your touching concern. If you'd bothered to read the thread, you'd see that I'm not the only one with the mouse-lock issue.

Thanks for the insult anyway. Gotta love the internet, eh?

Oh and also, whether it's a "feature" or not - I do NOT like the application stealing my mouse-focus. While NDS2X is running, I can only move my mouse within the lower-screen of the emulator. I like to alt-tab and do other things, or I like to click one of the menu buttons at the top, or I just like to draw lazily on the desktop -- whatever I like to do, I like to be able to DO it. I can't while the tool is running and that's a shame.

Actually only another user had your problem and I don't see where he insulted you...
Anyway I have no mouse problems with it, I'm sure that if you give Mysoft more information on how to reproduce your mouse behavior he will try to fix it for you.

Have you installed a specific mouse driver? Is an external mouse utility running on the background? If you change your overly settings in your GPU settings (I don't think this last suggestion will do for you)?

Thank you! I honestly don't know why people can't just be civil to each other .. but thank YOU for a HELPFUL post!

No, I don't have any additional drivers running (Logitech don't have a working Vista driver for my MX518, so I'm just using the Windows default HID driver) and nothing else was running while I was testing the program. As I said, I LOVE the filtering options and would continue to use this app... but the mouse-locking is annoying. I can understand WHERE the focus comes from (to aid in the emulation of a stylus) but being as how it doesn't release the cursor when I alt-tab.. or even quit the app.. it just means I can't use it.

I'll continue posting here and giving examples/scenarios so that, perhaps, MySoft can fix it.

The insult came from yet another "Oh it doesn't happen for me. It must be YOUR PC" Which is the last resort of every internet troll. The ones that don't have anything useful to contribute and don't realise that software works differently for different people.

My PC is in tip-top condition and everything else works fine EXCEPT "NDS2X" so no, it's definitely not a PC issue.

-=Edit=-

Oh NICE! Looks like Logitech finally updated the SetPoint suite! So I *will* have the proper driver and tools for my MX518. Perhaps that will fix it? I'll download and install, will let you know.

Thanks again, Tizio!

I would like it if you removed the space bar command because I use the space bar for my A button. At least give the choice of letting us change what buttons do what. Until then, this program is useless to me as I can't use space in the game. I don't want to change my controls because I got them in the most comftorable way I could find (my left hand is on controls and my right hand is on mouse). This is the best way I could find for the FPS DS games.

Huh?

That wasn't an insult. I was just simply stating that i had no problems on my PC with Nds2xgl (i wonder what gl stands for...) and that there might be something wrong with your PC.

No need to jump the shark, gun, bald man or whatever you like jumping on and start making accusations.

Just... chill... drink some water and take a breath of fresh air.

If that's true, then I apologise. It's just annoying seeing the reply "it must be your PC" whenever someone posts about an app not working as it should.

Oh and the GL is for OpenGL, since I believe (though I could be wrong) that's what NDS2X uses as a renderer.

GL is an incorrect reference to OpenGL, yes.

GL is factually, Glide, an api designed by 3DFX.

Kudos! Man.. I miss Glide Poor Voodoo, nVidia should have used the tech when they acquired 3DFX.

Glide was on its way out anyway, but they did incorporate a few of 3DFX's filtering techniques in the GeforceFX and higher.

@sak777
Read the previous posts, your request has already been added to the todo list for NDSXGL v3 (I think Mysoft already implemented this in his private builds)

One question, does it locks your mouse as soon as it starts or only after you right-click (or left-click) on the touchscreen?
If the mouse locks with left-click does it locks even if you don't touch the screen borders? I would like to better understand the way Mysoft implemented the lock-to-the-screen routine, the problem surely lies there..

for me,

the screen is only locked when i click and hold inside the window, this is to prevent the mouse from slipping off screen during emulation.

it does not remain locked after release.

It locks during the emulation (which is a feature I'd rather have the ability to disable, to be honest) but then DOESN'T let it go when I close the emulator

I just did a reinstall of Vista tonight (got a new SATA2 HDD .. and the performance increase is yummy!) so I'm going to try it again with my new SetPoint drivers

that could be a reason for it

Vista = OpenGL hate.

set it to run in Windows XP compatibility with Themes disabled.
