Actually it does, at least for me it does but only on the first game you open after you run Nds2xgl it remembers the last save type used even if you didn't saved the configuration on the emu, but if you load another game with the first one still running the save type remains with the one the first game uses.

I'm certain i read somewhere that it -is- supposed to remember save types. Also, why does it include a file called "nds-savetypes.txt" if it doesn't support remembering save type settings. ...and speaking of that file, why is it call savetypes when it doesn't -have- any savetypes listed in it?? All it is is release numbers & game names. For example: Quote:

...Then there's still the question of why that savetypes.txt file doesn't actually have any savetypes in it... |

Some part of what you call the release number will have the savetype in it...afterall there are nowhere near 10000 games yet.

so... this file have the ROM name plus the savetype... like save type number + rom name for example if your game is "Pokemon Diamond.nds" and you have opened this rom and have set the save type 512kb you probabily will see "5Pokemon Diamond.nds" in this txt... ('5' means that it was the 5ş save type in the list found into the no$gba setup) (it isnt recommend change it directly) if some of you think that it doesnt changing the savetype... let's try a test... 1. rename or delete the nds-savetypes.txt 2. open nds2xgl 3. open some rom, open the setup and change to the correct save type of that game 4. open another rom (that have a different savetype) ... open the setup and change the save type... 5. now open again the rom you opened in the step 3... this time when you go to setup the save type you select previously should be there... and now in the .txt you should have 2 lines... with the number and the rom name... so keep in mind when testing that messing with the save-type (for the test purpose can corrupt what is saved... so backup it... or something else...) also... keep in mind that everytime you open and close the setup the nds2xgl will get the savetype select and add/update the .txt file) also, this system will be somewhat deprecated in v3.0b with the rom browser... that will be easy to use (and a documentation xD) if this test fail to you... let me know your system... (and the patch that you have the no$gba emulator...) ie. Window XP sp2 / d:\jogoswindows\nds\emu\no$gba thkz =) |

I have tried with several different games, and it never remembers the savetypes. I have checked the savetypes.txt file afterward, and my games weren't added to the list. If I renamed the savetypes.txt file, then open nds2xgl, open a rom, change the savetype, it does -not- create a new savetypes.txt file. If I rename the original savetypes.txt file, then manually create a new blank text file named "nds-savetypes.txt", open a rom, change the savetype, it still does -not- add that info to the file. It doesn't remember the last rom I chose either, it always defaults to "NDS2xGL2.ds.gba". I'm running XP, media center edition (SP2). My emu path is simply D:\NDS Side note: You should mention somewhere that in order for nds2xgl to work, no$gba must be named "no$gba.exe". I ran into a bit of a snag when I first went to try nds2xgl because I rename no$gba to indicate the version number (that way I don't have to replace the old version when a new one comes out, and can easily revert if the new version turns out to be buggy). Renaming a copy of v2.6 back to just "no$gba.exe" fixed that problem easily enough, but it's still something you should mention somewhere. Last edited by Cypherswipe; January 9th, 2008 at 13:14.. |

No...not really...most people keep seperates folder for versions...they don't change the filename...when doing that to .exe files it almost always brings problems.

One more request - could you add in whatever "normal" filtering VBA is using? basically - you can resize VBA to any video size with it still looking pixely (instead of filterish). I don't really care about the any-size thing (though some might) - only about having a "normal" filtering on 1.5x mode.

Most PC Games for instance need to keep their specific exe, you can rename the a shortcut of the exe, but not the exe itself (at least any which you plan on ever patching).
